(not satire – it’s the Daily Mail!)
The Mail got a really easy question wrong in a sample of the test it published today from the new ‘ Britishness’ examination for immigrants.
Have a look at question 3:
Clearly the Daily Mail doesn’t know its Britain. Maybe it should be thrown out of the UK?
(The Mail has quickly corrected the answer now – a second chance a potential immigrant will not be given)

The questions are very narrow and hardly represent life in Britain. How many Brits would get them all right?

I see future potential asylum-seekers will have to have a working knowledge of the most popular ‘Monty Python’ sketches.
So the immigration test is reduced to a dopey pub quiz.
At least the previous government’s attempt had thoroughly boring but useful questions that the future citizen might feel more comfortable knowing. Anyway, future citizens need education not testing. Was Michael Gove responsible for the groundwork here?

I assume that these questions are the version as dreamed up by the Dopey Male paper, not the actual test as we are likely to see. So this simpleton’s comic is going to have a little fun and give the whole test a bias away from truth. That is what is expected of it, surely?

No, you get a week’s holiday in Walsall.
If you get them wrong, however, it’s a week’s holiday in Warsaw.

The Telegraph published the same selection of Qs and I noticed that question 3 had no right option. The answer they wanted was Union Jack; but of course it’s only a Jack when flown from the bow of a ship; it should be simply the Union Flag.

They’re only a small selection of the total. Judging by the child rapist who claimed his culture prevented him knowing that it wasn’t okay to shag 13-year-olds, we can hope they had one on the age of consent.

I do agree with all the ideas you’ve introduced on your post. They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Nonetheless, the posts are very short for beginners. May you please prolong them a bit from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
