(not satire – it’s Mail hack David Rose)
Establishment ‘fixer’ and Daily Mail hack David Rose is at it again.
Fixing it for those parts of the British establishment who have a serious problem and need a bit of PR spinning I mean.
You can see my previous articles about Rose’s attempts to ‘fix’ stories about Iraq WMD, global warming ‘hoaxes’ and other such nonsense here:
The Death of Satire? The Mail’s David Rose complains about being smeared
Child abuse scandal can of worms – just who is Daily Mail reporter David Rose?
This time, Rose is furiously trying to spin the bad news (bad for paedophile supporters anyway) that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Middlesbrough has been found liable for compensation for the child abuse that went on at St Williams School in Market Weighton in Yorkshire which was managed by the diocese.
In his Mail ‘article’, Rose tries desperately to divert attention away from the fact that the head of the school – Brother James Carragher – has already pleaded guilty and was jailed for the proven child abuse that took place there by doing a hatchet job on the victims.
If you want to read his so-called ‘article’ you can see it here if you really must (warning – Daily Mail crap alert):
As you can see from the title of the article, Rose also attempts to blacken the name of the solicitor who managed to win the case for the child abuse victims – David Greenwood of Jordan’s Solicitors.
If you want the real truth about the child abuse that took place at the school and the recent judgement – you could do worse than to look at this excellent blog post here:
At Last St William’s School Judgement
By the way, Rose and the Mail have already threatened to sue me with libel for ‘blackening’ his name before.
I’m curious if this post will push him to action.
Obviously I’ll let you know if it does.

It’s a complex area and one whose issues have been once again highlighted by the Savile et al allegations. Having worked for the police and social services and having unfortunately had experience of these types of crimes, I am uncomfortable with lawyers focusing on financial compensation while acknowledging this is largely symbolic of the damage done to victims. However, victims deserve justice however long ago their victimisation. Reasoned debate could assist in that but not this Daily Fail type of polemical ranting and witch-hunting. Legal aid must not be denied to those who would otherwise have no voice in law at all. (I would ban advertising based on compensation though). Mind you I’d also ban cheque-book journalism completely so that people who wish to reveal wrongdoings etc would be more likely to be genuine than simply reward seeking. Perhaps David Rose would like to write a piece on that? No – I thought not!

Broadly agree with the above post. Must admit my first reaction was to question who might be the most credible and was speaking the truth here out of a bunch of priests and a Daily Mail journalist – or a lawyer taking forward cases on mass. The former two do nothing to inspire confidence. But on the other hand one should always be wary of the possibility of any ‘speculative invoicing’ type practices (mentioned in a previous article) and mass legal action of any kind.
However, I am going to read further into this. The truth is there no doubt and anyone who has been engaged in wrongdoing whether that be the most serious in the form of child abuse or if applicable – poor journalism, self interest, lying or ambulance chasing, then the offenders should be dealt with. About time this whole scandal is properly investigated without the vested interests of others being the main consideration or topic of discussion..

The amazing thing is that the “Brotherhood” appealed, so no guilt over ruining people’s lives forever, have they not read their own bible? The men and women who suffer child abuse spend the rest of their lives either being medicated or self-medicating. Any person who has defiled a child needs stringing up imho because he has effectively destroyed that person.
David Rose aka Johann Eduard Hari, who was publicly castigated for plagiarism (http://www.economist.com/blogs/bagehot/2011/09/unethical-journalism) should be taken into care and abused for 10 years. I don’t know if that will clarify things for him or make him more of a prick than he is already. I don’t think he has normal feelings, a conscience or empathy – sure signs of a psychopath, that and the pathological lying.
Call yourself a journalist Dave? Trades’ description act anyone?

BALD HEADED TORY TWAT PLAYS GAMES WITH JOBLESS..
“”For the very small percentage that have a real problem – maybe they have absolutely no skills – we want them in front of the adviser,” he said.
“And if they’re just not playing ball, they will be in front of the adviser. These are little trip wires, if we think they’re not applying for it. There are lots of things the adviser can do.”
The Work and Pensions Secretary said jobseekers can be hauled in every day if advisers “think they’re not up to the activity” they are meant to be doing.
“We have some interesting programmes like mandatory work activity if the [advisers] think they’re having trouble getting out of bed, if th
ey’re not playing the game.”
SO THEY ARE NOT PLAYING ZE GAME…NOT PLAYING BALL,

and now a message sponsored by MASTERCARD.
“Mr Duncan Smith also confirmed his department is looking at introducing a ‘welfare card’, instead of some benefits, for drug addicts. This could only be used to purchase certain items, such as food and other essentials, stopping them from spending their benefits on drugs.
“I’ve been looking at this process to figure out whether it’s feasible, how would it work, how does it match with legal obligations, so we’ve already been examining this,” he told the BBC’s World at One. “There’s nothing at the moment on plans, but I genuinely think there are some areas where we might want to think about.
“You know, somebody who has a history of real drug addiction, giving people cash sometimes can actually lead to further problems.”
“YOU KNOW SOMEBODY WHO HAS A BENEFIT SCROUNGING PROBLEM LIKE GETTING THE TAX PAYER TO PAY FOR HIS WIFE AND HIS SECOND HOME AND ALL THE OTHER PERKS giving people cash sometimes can actually lead to further problems.”

One might wonder if his comments might apply to a pompous layabout who spent months on the dole after his “brilliant” Army career ended, before he was employed for a year or two as an arms salesman. That person served six years in the Army and, in his meteoric career, he rose from the rank of 2nd lieutenant to lieutenant; such was his courage, exemplary leadership and self-effacing modesty that he succeeded never having been “mentioned in despatches” or being awarded any medal he had not truly earned. He has also amended his own CV to remove the year he spent at the University of Perugia under the tutelage of Professor W. Mitti.

Regarding “David Rose” and the Daily Wail, it would appear that now the Levison Report is largely to be ignored, they are back to their grubby business as if nothing had happened.
It does not seem difficult to perceive that a major source of the story seems to be Defective Superintendent Colin Andrews; indeed, he may have contributed most of it.
“And, concerned that the allegations were inflated, Mr Andrews took advice from the Crown Prosecution Service. Some of the ‘victims’ had given several statements to Mr Greenwood and his colleagues and ended up making claims that bore little resemblance to their initial stories.
Again, The Mail on Sunday has examined these in detail, but the law prevents us from giving examples.”
Does it indeed?
One would have supposed that such statements would be covered by lawyer-client privilege and should not have been seen by the police – so why were they shown (or sent) to a muck-stirring, tabloid ‘newspaper’?
