(not satire – it’s the UK today!)
A 7-year-old boy has received a letter from the Home Office threatening to deport him.
Here’s the story in more detail from the Liverpool Echo:
Merseyside mum faces prospect of losing seven-year-old son to deportation
It seems, in their desperation to be seen to be reducing ‘net’ numbers of immigration before the next election, the government is not only resorting to deporting NHS health workers, but is now threatening children.
Boy – the Tories and the Liberal Democrats must be getting really really desperate at the thought of losing the next election.

Is this child threatening anybody, will he steal anybody’s job? What I’m curious about is why a British woman would want to adopt children from Europe, there are so many children in our own country waiting to be adopted.
Children are taken from their real parents and put into so called care, that is when they actually get the care orders right, i.e. innocent parents getting their children taken away while others are left with the guilty to be used and abused even killed, but that is another story.
Europeans are being asked to take in children from countries that are using female genital mutilation, I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the Philipino typhoon victims don’t end up here, it’s never ending.
All the while laws are being passed that are harming the poorest in this country at the drop of a hat, yet any laws the does not suit immigrant communities is discarded.
If there is any xenophobia going on it is against certain sections of society that were born and bred here which includes some second generation immigrants.

This government doesn’t know it’s arse from it’s elbow! There are known illegals, there are those in camps/prison wings waiting for asylum, there are those who have been jailed for crimes – they are the ones that they should be deporting!
I don’t know why they are picking on a 7 year old boy, but from reading the report the mother did know that she needed to do something about his citizenship, why she didn’t I don’t know. The mother and father have brought this upon the child who is the innocent victim in all of this.
If the government truly want to cut down on immigration (and we truly can’t take anymore people on),then they should close the borders now and stop the Romanians and Bulgarians from coming over in a couple of months. We are not going to get the well educated and self sufficient people coming here, we are going to be letting the dregs of society in as usual.

So this 7 year old boy has no human right entitlement to enjoyment of family life in the same way as the man who killed a young girl but couldn’t be deported after his conviction because it would infringe his human right to enjoyment of a family life?
Are we to assume, after forcible removal from his family home, he’ll be incarcerated in one of the Home Office concentration camps in case he absconds? Will it be necessary for up to 4 G4S goons to accompany him on the plane and forcibly restrain him, perhaps even kill him whilst restraining him, if he resists deportation and cries for his mummy and daddy?

The mother of the boy at the centre of this story has dual British and Canadian citizenship. The lad himself was born in Canada, and so the immigration authorities have decided that he’s Canadian, and therefore want to deport him. It’s a farcical situation, but unfortunately there have been other, similar instances, in which bureaucrats have tried to deport or block the entrance of minors into a country, while their parents were permitted to enter. Radio 4 about ten years ago broadcast a play by the Nobel prize-winning Nigerian novelist, Wole Soyinka, about the problems he had getting his newborn child through the American immigration system. His wife had become pregnant just after she and he were granted permission to live in the US. However, when the child was eventually born, the authorities attempted to refuse its admission to the US, because it had not been listed alongside Soyinka and his wife in the original immigration application. What we have here is an example of the kind of bureaucratic bloody-mindedness that has resulted in often savage miscarriages of justice down the ages. For example, the French Revolutionary, St. Just, was about to condemn five men to the guillotine as enemies of the Revolution. He was ordered to reprieve one of the men. However, this meant that St. Just could not fulfil his order to execute five men correctly, so he had another, entirely innocent man, taken off the street to join the four so that the correct number could be judicially murdered. Well, the death penalty has gone, but the same mentality apparently lives on amongst some of civil servants in the world’s immigration departments.
