(not satire – it’s the Lib Dems!)
Here’s Lib Dem president Tim Farron’s reply to someone on Twitter who reminded him that Lib Dem MPs broke their pledge not to raise tuition fees and agreed to triple them instead:
Labour MPs of course voted against the rise but in the topsy-turvy world of Lib Dem logic, Labour is now to blame for the rise.
I mean I know the Lib Dems are frantically trying to save their party from meltdown after 4 years of disastrous coalition with the Tories but trying to blame Labour for their own failed policies is pretty desperate stuff.

I never liked Tim Farron anyway but this seems a particularly queer form of political suicide.

Farron’s probably trying to throw the blame for the Lib Dems raising tuition fees on to Labour, who introduced them in the first place. This still doesn’t take away the fact that the Lib Dems not only broke their promise, they also tripled tuition fees. Not that this matters to the Tory Democrats, who clearly have to find someone else to blame for the fact that much of the country now hates them with a passion,

Labour also tripled tuition fees, after promising not to at the 2001 election. And they introduced them in the first place after promising not to at the 1997 election. On top of that Ed Miliband was just briefly against fees during his leadership campaign, yet now looks likely to endorse at least £6000 fees.
So I think Labour are still winning by at least 2-1 on the tuition fee betrayals front.
