(not satire – it’s the Sun!@?#!)
You may have already read about the Sun’s front-page story yesterday about a so-called immigrant single-mother from Lithuania called NATALIJA BELOVA who they say was claiming £279 a week in benefits but who actually turned out to be a working actress.
If you haven’t seen it, have a look at the story here as told by the excellent PoliticsUK:
The ‘REAL’ NATALIJA BELOVA, THE SUN
Well there could be an even stranger twist to the story.
Some people are saying that the Sun’s so-called foreign benefit scrounger is in fact the widow of a Russian billionaire oligarch.
Five years ago, Leonid Rozhetskin, an outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, vanished from his £1 million home just outside the Latvian capital Riga.
Just last year, Mr Rozhetskin’s body was found by police in Latvia who say he was most probably murdered.
His widow – who is said to be still living in the UK – is a former actress and model also by the name of NATALIJA BELOVA.
Here’s an old picture of her from 2006:
And here’s a picture of the Sun’s NATALIJA BELOVA today:
Could it be the same woman? I’m genuinely not sure but then – like Sun journalists – I’ve never been very good at telling the difference between billionaire widows of Russian oligarchs and unemployed Lithuanian actresses either.
How about you?

All these puerile and unfounded Tory stories made up on the spot by Murdoch’s myrmidons are pure rubbish. And aside from demonizing immigrants who are all of course on multi-thousands of pounds a week and who live the life of a benefit millionaire popping over weekly from their holiday home in Monaco to sign on the central fact remains;
This ConDem government is turning the poorest people of the UK’s indigenous population into an income stream for the engorgement of the rich, be they in this country or in countries that have lent us money. The poorest; the indigent; the young; the old in fact everyone at the bottom of the social pile are having their pockets picked by the rich.
That is no lie. The personal wealth of the richest in society is increasing at an exponential rate. Take a look;
http://articles.latimes.com/2013/jan/03/business/la-fi-billionares-gain-20130103
Just before Xmas 2012 the Inland Revenue wrote off in one single stroke of a pen £250 BILLION in unpaid taxes to multi-national corporations and those that own them.
In that same year (2012) when we were told that we were suffering the worst recession since the slump of the 1930’s the CEO’s of the top 100 FTSE companies registered in the UK saw their incomes RISE by 49%. They now average more than £4.5 million per annum (including bonuses) each!!
And while I’m on the subject of bonuses, the 2012 Xmas bonuses for the bankers that, in part, caused this mess in the first place this year is being kept very quiet. Have you noticed? A topic that had slipped off the agenda until it became known that they were going to pay them out post April 2013 to avoid a 50% tax rate because as we all know it drops this coming April to 45% but only for those earning over £150,000 per annum. A 45% rate brought in by this ConDem government – you know, the same government who bleat on continuously about the national debt and how frightfully awful it all is. I wonder how many £BILLIONS those bonuses will be when taken together? Never mind the 45% tax on those bonuses – they shouldn’t be paid in the first place. And all there’s been from this government is a bit of subdued sabre rattling and a mild call for some restraint. You seen any – because I haven’t.
So let’s just take just those three things together and then look at what they are doing to the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society. Then look at the front page of the Liberal Democrat membership card where it says;
“The Liberal Democrats exist to build a fair, free, and open society in which we seek to balance the fundamentals of liberty, equality, and community and in which no one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance, or conformity.”
Reconcile that one Cleggie.

I am very angry on behalf of lots of lithuanians who are working hard in UK and get payment for their work that this lazy person disgraces our nationality. I wonder if she is lithuanian herself, it is a question because neither her name nor her surname are not lithuanian but russian, she doesn’t speak lithuanian but russian as provided in her CV …

This story isn’t real – it was invented by Sun journalists to fulfil a political agenda.
It is nothing to do with real Lithuanians like you who on the whole come here to work and earn very little.
She also mentions Lithuanian on her CV but after she mentions Russian. Maybe she’s a Lithuanian of Russian descent?

Yes I also looked at this last night and came to the same conclusion, I’m sure they are one of the same. Knowing the Sun I suppose it could be the case that the person they portrayed in their ever accurate paper as Natalija Belova was herself a ‘stand in’. The similarity in name is I think more than a mere coincidence. The ‘real’ Belova has a modelling career and there’s all manner of different takes of her on such wondrous search facilities as Google images.
Her story line fits with the Russian billionaire oligarch theory.
I can’t quite work out the motive. Perhaps she’s a bit embittered about a fall from a millionaire lifestyle and wanted to make a point about being on benefits? The Sun would surely have known who she was?
Remember the Sun may have manipulated the story line from whatever it was Belova intended it to be about.
There’s more to this than meets the eye and who-ever she is I do hope she declared any earnings she received for participating in this stunt!
She’s certainly not typical of the benefit claimants I see!

Well OK we all know about the Sun, but go back to when New labour was in power and remember how labour used the Murdock press, the scrounger reports the skivers the well you remember.
Each time Labour came out with a green paper the BBC came out with a report about some soul getting benefits, one such report stated gent who was getting sickness benefits was actually working for sixteen hours while claiming benefits, yes but he can do that legally, and I contacted them and they said ah yes but can you, yes, will you come onto a hows then and tell us, yes, I did the show only to be told because I was obviously seriously disabled they could not use me, they were looking for scroungers.
The Sun does this type of thing at the request I suspect of the political party in power, makes it look good and when your talking about Romania and Lithuanian migrants coming here soon, works well does it not to stop benefits
