As if it isn’t bad enough defending the EDL – it seems UKIP activist Marty Caine needed to dig himself a hole even deeper by branding Drummer Lee Rigby’s family “idiots” after their moving statement pleading for calm.
In a tweet defending the EDL, Marty Caine UKIP wrote this (click to enlarge):

Just how low do UKIP members have to go before the British public realise they stand for nothing in the least bit British and UKIP is in fact just another extremist minority party like the EDL and the BNP which should be confined to the political fringes where all the other crackpot parties in the UK dwell.

And as this latest Government have shown, they aren’t particularly clever, well to be honest they seem to be plain stupid, which amounts to a total void of common sense or constructive thinking. An Eton education doesn’t really amount much to more than to how to line one’s own pockets, nothing more. Intelligence is something that cannot be taught.

I’m sorry, but how can you call UKIP an extremist minority party? They achieved around 25% in all the places they stood for in the recent local elections … so should this many of the country’s population be confined to the political fridges? That would be crazy.
Obviously this person representing UKIP was completely wrong in his tweet, and failed to think about how his own opinion would reflect so badly on his party. But at present, left wing media and other groups who are terrified of the rise of UKIP will do anything they can to portray it as a racist, fascist organisation. If people were bothered to go through every labour, conservative or libdem councillor’s online history, I’m sure much the same would be found.
An apology should be made to Lee Rigby’s family for this distasteful comment, but calling the whole party and thus all it’s supports (which is a very large amount of people) extremist and crackpots is completely unfair.

The idiot who tweeted that Lee Rigby’s family are ‘like a lot of idiots’ is clearly an idiot.
Meanwhile 58 Unite Against England fascist hate mongers were arrested in London over the weekend. http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/473676/20130602/bnp-edl-fascism-arrest-griffin.htm.
Sniffer dogs alerted police when the anti-nazi fascists broke out of their pen due to the malodorous stench that often accompanies them. Beside No Hope-Hate there were several other anti-English fascists groups involved in clashes with the police.
There was further trouble in Northern towns and cities when arrests were made amongst pro Islamist terrorist groups and supporters of Muslim paedophile grooming gangs. Both groups are racist scum who hate the English.
A protest by the far right fascist BNP in London passed off peacefully.

I’m clearly an idiot, well lets look at the evidence? Anyone who believes an ex soldier such as myself would call Lee Rigby’s family idiots are actually beyond stupid. Now look closely at what I actually said, see that little word ‘LIKE’! now if I was to say you were acting like and American I would not be saying that you are an American would I. Now it is because of that little word ‘LIKE’ that I am now preparing to sue three people because they have been dumb enough to write and publish a malicious falsehood – “UKIP activist calls Drummer Lee Rigby’s family ‘idiots”

Ah, Marty Caine, it’s all been made much clearer now!
You didn’t actually call the Rigby family ‘idiots’ but only likened them to idiots.
Well, that makes all the difference doesn’t it?
Surely as an ex soldier you would know by now that when you are in a deep hole full of crap it’s time to stop digging?
For whatever reason, you made an error of judgement so why not man up, own up, apologise profusely to those concerned and move on instead of making idiotic threats to ‘sue’ people.
If you meant to write that you hope to bring a court action on the grounds of defamation because you made an idiotic mistake which was publicised, and people then presumed that based on the idiotic twaddle that you allegedly tweeted you are clearly an idiot in their opinion, I respectfully suggest that you engage the services of a very good barrister, and good luck- you’ll certainly need it! 🙂

I think twats may well sue you for libel there, Tom, how dare you compare them to a Ukip member? Twats are useful for starters, well liked by most people, have a necessary place in society, in short, everything that a Ukip member is not.

Bit of a sweeping generalisation there, please don’t suggest that because one UKIP ‘activist’ who may or may not be a member of the UKIP has exhibited twat like behaviour that is not nice that the party is completely bereft of much nicer twats.
I don’t know if size matters where twats are concerned but it’s plain for all to see that there are some much bigger twats in the Labour party and many more of them.

“like a lot of idiots, they…” implies that you are saying that “they” are a part of a general group of idiots with whom “they” share a particular quality. Since you were clearly referring to the family of Lee Rigby, I think you’d seriously struggle to convice a court that Tom Pride’s interpretation of what you said was unreasonable.
In any case, it was clearly an insult aimed at the Rigby family. Court cases are public, if you really want to sue, have fun spreading the news of that tweet far and wide. I’m sure it will improve your public image tremendously.

Anyway I was just discussing this on Twitter with Marty. I was telling him there is a difference between “like” and “like a lot of”. He got frosty when I said he was “like” a compulsive public masturbator.

Am I wrong or did they not win 25% of the paltry 33% turnout (local by-elections are always lower). That’s a far cry from 25% of the whole country. Kippers will see just how little regard the country has for them come the general election when people vote for what they want rather than protesting at what they don’t want.
Remember regions like many parts of Lincolnshire have high levels of migrant workers (working the fields and doing the shitty jobs, but I suppose that the yokels don’t so much mind that they work, it’s the whole pesky living and socialising bit they object to). Trust me, put a kipper forward in my area and they’ll come to understand just how wanted they are.
Sorry. Digression from main point, but I just can’t help myself when a kipper floats belly up on my newsfeed.
