The founder of the far-right English Defence League Tommy Robinson has announced he is to head a new-ish far-right group called Pegida.
In fact Pegida isn’t at all that new. It has been operating in Germany for some time now – where its leader is infamous for doing impersonations of Hitler:
But Pegida also has supporters in the UK – not least the Daily Mail which has praised the German movement in fulsome terms and even referred to its members as “decent German people” and “rational folks“:

The Mail of course has a long and wretched history of supporting far-right German movements…

“Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes” Ah yes the “rechtsradikalen Xenophoben” nothing like a bunch of decent radical Xenophobes to get the country back on the right track. Thankfully the real decent folks of Germany have pushed the Pegida into a corner of insignificance.

@ grooveyleddy. V True, there are a LOT of decent Germans because they’re not force fed biased/partial history in their schools and know what it’s like to lose a war.
