(not satire – it’s the BBC!)
(UPDATE: BBC had to eventually apologise for their ‘error’)
The BBC’s Andrew Neil is a Tory supporter and a climate change denier.
His first job was as a political adviser in Edward Heath’s Conservative Government.
And perhaps it’s because he’s so right-wing that he’s openly censoring the Green Party from his BBC reports.
Here’s Neil’s graphic from a couple of days ago showing the state of the major parties in the latest opinion polls:
The only problem is that in that particular opinion poll, the Green Party were in 4th place on 8%.
Neil, however, decided to just exclude them from the graphic:
BBC apologises to Greens over dodgy poll reporting
Mind you, to be fair, Andrew Neil obviously isn’t all that good when it comes to statistics.
After all, he once thought people couldn’t get AIDS from heterosexual sex
.
Thanks also to the excellent Media Lens for pointing this out.

Please feel free to share. And comment.

Oh my goonesss! Are you, Mr Pride, suggesting that Andrew Neil is a Tory? All this time I’ve been thinking you’ve been trying to shock us. The next thing you’ll be attempting to convince us of is that Nick Robinson, BBC political editor (of that allegedly nasty left-wing institution). was a former leading member of the Federation of Conservative Students (FCS). (Which he was; and believe me the FCS made Thatcher look like a ‘wooly-social-liberal’.)

It is a disgrace how the BBC continue to marginalise the Green Party, especially as the are now polling better than the Lib Dems, membership has increased by 120% in a year and they are the most supported party among 18 – 24 year olds.

Neil is certainly no stranger to spin. Lobster claimed a fair few years ago that when he was the editor of the Sunday Times, he was the conduit for propaganda and misinformation, directed, amongst other targets, at the Labour party from the funny people at MI 5.

It is clearly obvious where he is coming from. Mr Neill finds it very hard to hide. What disgusts me is that he is given free reign by the BBC (what knowledge does he have?). In the recent interview with Ian D Smith ( the laughing cadalier ) he challenged him on the figures but never mentioned once the issue of how many people have died in relation to the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) which has been campaigned about since 2011. Easy Rider when it comes to Tories. I have complained to BBC got rubbish reply. Surprise surprise. I hope the great British public can see this. An institution full of paedophiles and their cover up agents MI5 MI6 and Special Branch do you wonder at the bias. In case anybody gets the wrong idea “If the cap fits please feel free to wear it “. If you swim in the same pool as slimeballs some of it eventually will stick. No one has answered how Saville survived so long in their company. Or how they are briefing against some members of CSA panel. The sewer pipes in London smell sweeter.

Er it could be Labour just as much as Tories trying to airbrush out The Greens, when remember the last by election when the Lib Dems barely got 400 votes and came BELOW The Greens, who just wasted their time chasing UKIP instead of promoting their new and unique policies that would have given them a possible win and not just single figures percentage points of votes.
There is a blog (who will no doubt get shut down for defamation / libel) that is calling The Green party a fascist party. This is a LOL moment and could not possibly be from the official Labour party or Sadiq Khan, the head of the anti-Green election campaign group in Labour.
But I call The Greens’ leader Ms Bennett a far more pragmatic critique and that is The Greens do not have the moral courage to win big in 2015 and form a majority government, by gaining the 15 million and more voters of the poor (those adults up to 66 or even 73 denied state pension) being described even by The Times as suffering entirely preventable impoverishment.
The Greens have not put into their 2015 manifesto, two policies on The Greens’ policy website, that would save lives for the 5 years after 2015 of the fixed term parliament that is now law. Mine included.
– Automatic and universal Citizen Income, in or out of work, not requiring anyone to be actively seeking work, to the level of the basic tax allowance (due to be £10,600 in 2015-2016 tax year).
– Full State Pension, irregardless of National Insurance contribution / credit history, to same amount of Citizen Income.
Both of the above would have supplements for those living alone and for the disabled.
Instead of berating parties that Labour is doing, which never works in the UK as the English do not listen to negative campaigning.
Labour could have bettered The Greens’ unique policies by:
– Full State Pension, irregardless of NI history, at 60 for women who lost state pension payout since 2013 and equalising the state pension payout at 60 for men in 2015.
– Labour could pay out the full state pension not yet promised by The Greens in 2015 manifesto pledges, and not tax other pensions that are barely between
4 per cent and 20 per cent lowest income.
– Citizen Income bettered by any wages having a first tax band of 5p in the pound, not the 10p in the pound first tax band Labour says now.
The Greens would have 20p in the pound.
– Not only abolish the National Insurance Fund as The Greens promise, so saving lowest waged from losing 12 per cent per year from wages of compulsory deductions for National Insurance contributions, but also giving employers the chance of paying the Living Wage as the boss also saves having the money taken by government in compulsory NI for each workers.
And all this would be funded by Labour ending Jobcentres and much of the benefits admin of the DWP for benefit and state pension (as all people would get same CI and Full State Pension just by being citizens).
If Labour will not do all this, because trapped in New Labour’s mindset started by Blair/Brown.
Then the socialist parties could do a u-turn quick and bring about the above and they, just by themselves, could win a majority government in 2015, by gaining the over 15 million of the poor of all ages, including the 2.6 million current pensioners only on the state pension far far below the breadline.
And it is the over 60s who come out to vote the most, yet these policies would save peoples’ lives of all ages.
Anybody?

I agree negative campaigning is a waste of resources and of energy and is lost on the majority of serious voters. You are right about the citizen wage. First and foremost it would substantially reduce poverty if combined with housing benefits or guaranteed affordable properties and it would massively increase spending power, stimulating the economy and increasing continued growth. The equalisation of pensions to 60 years old would relieve millions who have given their best years and create job vacancies for the millions of unemployed. Abolition of the National Insurance fund and disbanding the DWP are both good policies as they have ceased to be relevant and have been abused for years especially the DWP which has been transformed into a state humiliation and punishment system. Those in senior posts who have engineered the system should be thrown out on their ears. In some cases it might be that they could be prosecuted. The problem with the bit about the socialist parties is that they are all fragmented on positions of ideology or ego-ology of present leaders. Until the various parties of the left drop their differences and develop a manifesto and direction that unites them all before May next year then there is not a snowballs chance in hell of winning power. In the meantime to avoid another 5 years of right wing driven policy the only option is to vote Labour through gritted teeth if necessary and use the time in the next 5 years pushing for your ideas to become a national programme.

This article is just plain wrong. How on earth is this Andrew Neil’s fault? The ‘mistake’ of leaving the Greens out of the graphics was made by YouGov. Look at their web site – https://yougov.co.uk/news/2014/12/23/labour-lead-4/
