Cameron’s attempts to make himself and his government look tough on immigration have reached farcical levels.
In a bizarre action involving immigration officials and police officers, US Shakespeare scholar Dr Paul Hamilton has been arrested and is being held in a cell, even though he had paid £650 to apply for leave to remain within the normal 10 days of the expiry of his visa:
US PhD graduate detained in UK immigration removal centre
Dr Hamilton was taken to Leamington Spa police station where the sergeant initially refused to process him because it was clearly wasting police time.
So the next time you call the police and there are no units available, think on.
Maybe it’s because the police are too busy arresting Shakespearean scholars in order to make poshboy Cameron look tough on immigration?

Prithee proud General Sir Thomas Pride, may I interject to compliment you on the title of your new publication, which contains a marvellous play on words worthy of the Bard himself.

Forsooth, truly it is said that one should think first before liking another’s words, for many a perceived compliment may indeed be that which Master Wilde did call the lowest form of wit.

In Faith, proud and deluded General Sir Thomas Pride, it is perhaps forgivable that you are ignorant of the whole quote by Master Wilde, as his works were and are unknown to you during your life.
