(not satire – it’s the Tories!)
The youth wing of the Scottish Conservative Party has had to cancel its annual conference due to a severe lack of interest.
Conservative Future Scotland had billed the AGM planned for last Saturday as “exciting” and “interesting”:
But Conservative Future Scotland managed to sell just 12 tickets for the event:
.
Conservative Future?
Not in Scotland there isn’t.

There’s a thankful end to an auld bitter and divisive tune as even the Young Fogie wannabe Old Tory Fogie elements grasp the end is upon them in Jockanistan (where will they migrate to politically and opportunistically?).
All that seems to be left of them North of the Border is the blue hair rinse and tweedie dinosaur brigade shuffling ever onwards off their mortal coil (plus a few Fraser Nelson/Cochers/Andrew Neil et al apologists fighting an ever more blatantly bankrupt rearguard action on the run up to their Jock Rourke’s Drift whence – and at the ballot box where – the Impi electorate – constituted of ALL the citizens of Scotland regardless of origin – overwhelm them democratically and dispatch them, too, to their Unionist Valhalla tawdry of facade and delusional).
The game’s up for the Union. Unravelling as it has been since the get go in 1706 treaty and subsequent 1707 “ratifications” of the respective parliaments.
All that is now left is for the referendum to read the last rites over this epic Ponzi Scheme founded on a lie, threats, bribes, and brutality subsequently imposed in bloody pink across the globe.
A new beginning and a genuine friendship amongst equals awaits.
And I, for one, will hoist a dram to Tam Paine in celebration (and will share another to the final repudiation of Daniel Defoe’s skulduggery en passant but briefly so as the page of his chapter is closed in favour of MacLean’s, Lygate’s, Hardie’s, Cunningham Graham’s, and a host of others optimistic visions of what a Scotland restored to its people’s sovereignty might look like).
Postscriptum: The dram to Paine will to be to his vision of England and a people who are also sovereign.
Slainte!

And the Tories keep trying to tell us they’re gaining young members – not in Scotland, it seems. Let us hope England, Wales and Northern Ireland follow this example soon.

What this does show is that, north of the border, the Tories really are in the ‘Others’ bracket as a party, little bigger (or more sane) than the BNP or the Monster Raving Loony Party.

Maybe. And it does explain why Labour have allowed themselves to be dragged in to support an otherwise shoogly foundation for unionism. But if true it’s damned hard on the poor English, particularly in the North. But then, I’m expecting one result of independence to be clamours from there to move the Scottish Border south. (Maybe as far south as, say, Derby where there’s a historical precedent for this?) Either that or the creation of an NSP: a Northern Separatist Party. Let’s hope they succeed so that they, like the happy Scots, no longer have to tolerate the cruelty and incompetence inflicted when sheer numbers and a non-proportional voting system allow right-wing voters in the South of England to impose their increasingly xenophobic and heartless policies on the rest of us. I’ll be cheering them on.
