To get a good idea of the real face of UKIP, all you need to do is to have a look at the reaction from party supporters on the official UKIP Facebook page to Farage’s suggestion that the UK should let some Syrian refugees come to the UK.

So according to UKIP supporters – immigrants and Muslims are ‘filthy’, ‘dirty’ ‘scum’ who deserve to be shot.
So much for Farage’s attempts to portray the UKIP as a modern, moderate, libertarian, non-extremist and non-racist party.

I know loads of labour voters and tory voters who think the same of any foreign assylum seekers and refugees. I support UKIP and UKIP’s sensible distinctions between genuine refugees and economic migrants, You can tar any party with delusional, racist, violent rantings of some un-representitive supporters of those parties.

Christ was a refugee as a child fleeing persecution and murder. No chance.
But Farage has really confused Ukip politics to its members and those opposed.

No other party leader who made a similar comment would draw such a torrent of pure anti-foreigner, anti-Muslim, sublimely ignorant hate speech. It says everything about the kind of people UKIP appeals to.

What struck mme most about the messages on the facebum page was the sheer laziness of their thought processes. Some of them said that if more immigrants come here then they will leave the country, inorder to go and live in someone else’s country.
But yes – if these 1500 people or so are indicative of the heart of UKIP voters then it is indeed a racist party. Something I don’t think Nigel Ferrarge intended.

I’m so surprised (not) that there has been no mention of creedism. From the interview I heard on the radio with Mr Farage he was only supporting the idea of Christian Syrian refugees being allowed in. A point which the tweeters seem to have overlooked. It also shows their lack of intelligence in not listening to what is being proposed before spouting creedist, racist or any other -ist bandwagon they can jump on before typing with their itchy twitter-fingers. 😉

I do not object to people entering our country for a better life, but when we are suffering ourselves this is a hard pill to swallow. Many people are being made homeless, disabled people forced to work and told they will get better, children and OAP’s going hungry or without heating. Working mum’s having their tax credits stopped because they work under 30hrs a week and when on minimum wage it is impossible to live decent life, its pay bills eat or heat. We do not have a life anymore we have an existence. Employers can not give you more hours and its impossible to find another job with more hours. I believe we have enough immigrants in the country at present. It will be the tax payer that will house them feed them cloth them, while our own people go without. Is this fair? our government can not look after their own people

Sorry, I have to disagree, genuine refugees only. This for those amongst you writing here who’ve forgotten that this is a tiny island with huge social problems of its own and it’s overcrowded with very limited housing, health, and job opportunities, all of which are being made much worse by our corrupt inept self seeking government, and this is a White Christian country so no more. We need to sort our own problems out first whilst preventing any further opportunities for that useless half wit idiot Cameron to to grandstand on the world stage. Anyway who would want to live in our rapidly becoming Fascist country!

The vast majority of immigrants work- fact!
The vast majority of immigrants do not live in social housing at the cost of the taxpayer- fact!
The vast majority of immigrants are not ‘benefit tourists’- fact!
The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals- fact!
Immigrants contribute more to the economy than take out of the economy- fact!
There’s not enough schools or hospital places or council houses or jobs……if that is the case, who’s fault is that? Who votes for the politicians who repeatedly keep on making these cuts, and then conveniently scapegoat minorities for their own selfish stupidity and gullibility?
