Here’s a nice video of some local volunteers – people with special needs, Down Syndrome – delivering leaflets on behalf a local community centre in Walsall in the West Midlands:
But hidden inside the leaflets were flyers for the local Conservative Party candidate Christopher Towe, who is standing in the local elections:
The Collingwood Community Centre receives £4,000 from the local council to produce and deliver leaflets about local events and activities – which presumably is not supposed to include promotion of the local Conservative Party.
A quick check on the Charity Commission website shows that Mr Towe along with at least one other local Tory councillor is a trustee of the Collingwood Centre Charity – which runs the Collingwood Community Centre:
Purely coincidental, I’m sure.

I wonder if they’re doing that to circumvent the rules on election spending? Will it be declared? Or will they, once again, get away with election fraud?

Tracy, I think they’re doing it to keep half wits out of trouble — there isn’t room for all of them in the cabinet!

Crooked to the core motives ,dishonest to the core motives ? ,…question is and only ever has been for years and years and years…. are ‘ALL’ of those involed in politics, the lot of them, lock stock and barrel ‘ALL’ ,really the lowest form of human moral values or are we as a world just all incredibly unlucky to keep getting the worst people ?
If they have nothing to hide it certainly does no harm to look now does it ..especially considering who they feel it’s ok to use.
I have my thoughts and needless to say those thoughts make us all equal in the eyes of the law…and that includes the law.
Tom,hope your all well and please keep up the good work questioning these peoples motives and morals.

Apparently the Council has confirmed that the vulnerable people were paid for their work, and it was with the approval of their parents/guardians. So there is no problem there, provided the campaign expenditure is declared. However, there may be a problem about Tom Pride posting a video of these people without their permission.

This use of vulnerable people, including those with Downs, to disseminate propaganda is about as low an action, even for Tawdries, as I’ve heard. This is the very party that’s happy to hound the vulnerable, cut their provision, and force them into unsuitable employment (rebranded as training. Training for what?
