Bexit supporters – who have recently been strongly supporting Boris Johnson’s handling of the Brexit negotiations – are VERY unhappy with reports he has made a major U-turn by agreeing to Northern Ireland remaining in a Custom’s Union with the EU.
Here are some comments from the Rees-Mogg Back-up Group on Facebook.
One called Johnson’s possible EU deal “the end of the Tories” and another worried it may mean Johnson has “sucker punched” Brexit voters:
Another said “thank goodness” the deal was not a done thing and pronounced Johnson’s agreement “unpalatable“:
And another simply called for “War“:
Looks like Johnson’s in big big trouble.

Brexit was seized upon as an issue by Boris as the means by which he could achieve his ambition to be prime minister. As in everything else in his political career, any adverse consequences are simply regarded by him as collateral damage, and as long as he continues to think that he can finesse this deal in the way he appears to be, then he will carry on his sweet way.
But… It has been quite clear that he is trying to play both sides. His aim is a No Deal crash out in the interests of the narrow financial interests that pushed for Brexit, but it is not as easy as he thought it would be. I think that on the morning of November 1st, they will be much more that a little annoyed…..

here’s what Johnson’s original proposals signified for Ireland and the UK.
No wonder Dr Varadkar was keen to tell Mr Johnson exactly what the UK would face if it broke the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement which is an International Treaty.
Nobody knows how the chips will fall in the next couple of weeks but let’s hope it’s not No Deal!
