There’s a touching article in the Independent today from a supposedly lifelong Labour supporter who has left the party because of Corbyn.
The emotional piece – explaining how this supposedly poor normal Labour supporter from a supposedly working class family had now joined the Lib Dems – was written by someone called Liz Jarvis:
But wait a moment.
Surely not the same Liz Jarvis – editor of extremely posh luxury cruise travel magazine Cruise International:
Surely not the same Liz Jarvis, editor at Chelsea Publishers – publisher of exclusive lifestyle magazines for sloany posh types?
Surely not the same Liz Jarvis who was once Rupert Murdoch’s Travel Editor at News International:
Surely not the same Liz Jarvis one-time Express and Sun hack:
Surely not that poor, working class, lifelong Labour supporter Liz Jarvis?

Her tweets seem pretty consistently pro-Labour, anti-Conservative and anti-Corbyn, I’m not sure there’s anything inconsistent about the piece she wrote for the Independent.
And before you mock the wealthier, or those clinging to a seemingly lux lifestyle, for claiming to be pro-Labour, remember that the movement will not develop or succeed without the wealthy coming on board. The argument here feels pretty Daily Mail (you can’t be a lefty if you have a Jaguar) and is not the sort of rhetoric that really spurs Left politics onto greater heights, it’s just petty.
I’m not saying you’re wrong — you might be right — but it’s all pretty petty all the same.
[You’re missing the point. She is entitled to her opinion. We all are. But if her opinion is being splashed all over a national newspaper, we are entitled to know who she is. Her identity was deliberately hidden. She is not a ‘normal’ Labour supporter. She is a professional journalist who has written for several right-wing publications. This was deliberately hidden by her and the Independent, who surely knew who she is. I also have opinions about Corbyn, Brexit, Labour and Lib Dems. But the Independent isn’t splashing my views all over their pages. Why do you think that might be?] – TOM

Confirmed on a daily basis that you just can’t believe a word the capitalist press say, what is evident though, social media are the only ones interested in telling people as it is, regardless of the Trolls pretending they are the voice of reason.

I can’t edit my own comment but to reply to the note you added to it (a little domineering by the way) — I didn’t miss the point. Her whole career is a quick google away. I don’t know who expects bylines to contain a whole CV. What the heck does “normal” mean, I literally want everybody to support Labour. Furthermore the Indie is a goldarn terrible newspaper, nothing of which should be taken as fact except for pieces written by Mark Steel. This article is a fart.

Regardless of which political party Liz Jarvis supports she says it all for me – Corbyn is a disaster for Remainers like me and the quicker we can get rid of him the better. Shame because his manifesto is just what the UK needs but by waving the Tory Brexit through he has guaranteed the continuation of austerity, regardless of the party in power. I feel the need for profanity so will stop now before I lose complete control.

I have just read some of the other comments – it seems to me that I am not alone in trying to get JC to change his policy on Brexit or, better still, resign so that the Labour opposition can start opposing instead of continually whining nonconstructivly. WE need to stop Brexit.

Yawn. Change the record Paul Edwards. We know you fpbe or whatever sort want to keep labour out of power. I know the lib dem lies hurt you, and you feel the need to lash out, but some of us are trying to fix the causes of brexit, rather than proposing ignoring half the electorate.
