Guido Fawkes – AKA Paul Staines – has been trying to smear Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour with fake news about anti-semitism.
But Staines has some secrets he would probably prefer to keep secret.
When he was a student, Staines was chairman of the Federation of Conservative Students at Humberside University.
And while he was in that position, he proposed a pact between the Conservatives and the neo-Nazi British National Party, saying “I share a lot of your objectives”.
Here’s a transcript of a now deleted article from the Guardian in 1986:
Tory student leader in ‘racist ‘ party link
The Guardian, 31 May 1986
Paul Delarie-Staines of Federation of Conservative Students attempts to form pact with British National Party in Hull
A leader of the Federation of Conservative Students wrote to an organiser of the British National Party proposing joint ‘direct action’ to disrupt the meetings of leftwing students.
Secrecy, he emphasised, was essential: ‘The Reds would simply go wild if they got to hear of a BNP-FCS link. I would personally be in danger of being expelled from the Conservative Party.’
The author of the letter is Mr Paul Delarie-Staines, the chairman of the federation’s 50-strong branch at the Humberside college of Higher Education.
Mr Delarie-Staines, who is in his first year of a degree course in business information studies, wrote on May 22 to Mr Ian Walker, a BNP organiser in Hull.
He was, he said, against several of the aims of the BNP, which campaigns for the repatriation of black citizens. Several of its members have been convicted of offences under the Race Relations Act, and others for crimes of violence against ethnic minorities. Its leader, Mr John Tyndall, is a former chairman of the National Front.
Mr Delarie-Staines said he did not share the BNP view on immigration: as a member of the ‘libertarian’ faction of the FCS he advocated the free movement of labour, albeit with the caveat that ‘you come here to work – or starve. ‘
He went on: ‘I share a lot of your objectives.‘ These included a return to leadership and statesmanship, the abolition of the welfare state, and ‘the elimination of Communism in Britain – the mass media, the trade unions, and the schoolroom. ‘
Mr Delaire-Staines continued: ‘Nevertheless, even though we have our differences, I know a lot of BNP people at college do support the FCS (some are members of the FCS). I can certainly envisage some degree of cooperation.
‘For instance, we are moving away from just the normal political debate and towards more direct action – anti-Communist slogans on bridges, disrupting the leftist meetings by posing as leftists and then causing trouble, and also convincing individual leftists of the error of their ways.
‘Perhaps members of the BNP would care to join us in our anti-leftist activities. We can arrange a meeting to discuss possible joint future activities. ‘
Other examples of Mr Delaire-Staines work reached the Guardian, including a number of songs. One, entitled FCS Bootboys, reads: ‘Gas them all, gas them all, the Tribune group trendies and all. Crush Wedgwood Benn and make glue from his bones, Burn the broad left in their middle class homes.
‘Yes we’re saying goodbye to the Left, as safe in their graveyards they rest. ‘Cos they’ll get no further, we’ll stop with murder, the bootboys of FCS. ‘
In a letter to a friend, Mr Delaire-Staines said that he had been on a ‘community arts course – well. not exactly community arts, more spraypainting a bridge at 3am. Quite good fun really, ducking out of sight of passing police cars’
Mr Delaire-Staines told the Guardian that he had not meant violence by direct action at leftist meetings, only ‘causing as much noise as possible’. He said that he had tried to forge links with the BNP because ‘we share their anti-Communist view’.
He added: ‘They’re not far-right. They’re just racists, they believe in one colour. ‘
Mr John Barrow, the national chairman of FCS and a Lambeth councillor, said that Mr Delaire-Staines was ‘a bit silly. I wouldn’t hold it against him. I’m sure he’ll grow out of it.’ After hearing extracts from the letter to the BNP he added. ‘He’s absolutely right that he’s in danger of being thrown out of the Conservative Party.’
Mr James Goodsman, the Conservative Central Office official responsible for the FCS, said: ‘If the evidence comes my way I will certainly look into it.

Money can buy you anything except a decent soul …and that leads you nicely to the Tory party and generally all politicians and their supporters…everyone else with a decent souls goes day by day wishing the pope is right and these souless entities just vaporize to nowhere where they belong…or to put a slant on it ..even the devil refuses to claim them in this day and age ..’here here’ to that and the pope should know whats on the devils mind better than anyone if you catch the sentiment 🙂

It gets worse than this. He was also a member of the International Freedom Foundation (the Apartheid regime’s Operation Babushka) and in this guise hosted a UNITA terrorist in the UK, accepted apartheid money to smear anti-apartheid activists as stooges for Russia, travelled to South Africa as a guest of the regime, travelled to the apartheid headquarters of UNITA at Jamba in occupied Angola, and created lucrative links with American Republicans who were also assets of the apartheid regime. When he dropped out of University he went to work in a think tank also funded by these guys. He claims to have made his money as a broker in the city, but has constructed so many myths, and used EU law to try and remove all traces of his dodgy past from the Internet. It’s still there though, but I recommend using a search engine that is not Google. For more info on Operation Babushka, see this article:

Note however that Russel Crystal, founder of the IFF, claims that he was unaware of any Apartheid security police funding. That would be Russel Crystal, who was subsequently exposed in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) as an officer of the notorious Apartheid Security Police. His handler, Chris Williamson is equally notorious as one who infiltrated the ANC and was implicated in a number of assassinations of anti-apartheid activists outside South Africa.

If you want to play that game, anyone can go back to student and hot head days.
Can go back, and YES Corbyn did support IRA terrorists who were shot when qand supported an IRA bomber who blew up a chip shop and killed people and children when they went to get their suppers because he blew himself up at same time.
and YES got people now in their 40s and 50s who wrote and supported extreme Class War and were ready to kill, rape, kill children and babies and kill and hospitalise a copper and made calendar of hospitalised coppers and offered a point scoring system for students if they harmed a police officer.
and who support killing the defective including women who are useless, disabled., mentally handicapped children and old people. Lets not forget the old people who need to be punished and made to suffer as they had it too easy.
Can all play that game.
Hopefully people have moved on, maybe rabid right wing in early teens and twenties then mellowed out to being Conservative later or rabid left wing and radical then mellowed out to be Labour LibDem or Greens later.
I do not believe in this retro guilt shit.
a friend of mine from Bangladesh believed in shooting poor people and extreme restrictions on poor and unemployed, she hs since changed her mind and now her and her uncle do regular charity work as professionals.
It starts going downhill when people dredge up offences from the past as well as imaginary offences from the present.
Do we have to hold it against people for having a joint when students or Clegg having sex with 30 willing females

And do not forget the UDA/UVF with support of many RUC police and SAS who murdered 800 Catholics and the British Army murder of 14 unarmed protesters in Derry , IRA were freedom fighters for many oppressed Irish people . The result was the Good Friday Agreement of 20 years ago and has held a peace process because of people like Jeremy who listened and understood.

Tom, you may not have got the latest copy of the NLM Style Guide (Ver 2.66)
I’ll quote the relevant section: “It is childish, and not recommended to make fun of people with stupid names. The one exception to this, is Paul Staines aka Guido Fawkes, who must always be referred to as P. Staines.”

This has been in the public domain for a long time – I first became aware of it about eight years ago.
It’s resurgence has sparked Guido, signing himself as Paul, to warn several politicians and journalists on Twitter that they’re ‘on notice’ for tweeting the article that he claims was retracted, years ago.
I have no sympathy for Paul, he’s been smearing people for so long now, it’s about time he was on on the receiving end.
If you RT something enough times, regardless of the truth, it stays in the public consciousness and eventually is accepted as factual.
Serves him right, vile creature.
