David Cameron in 2012:
“This coalition has a clear new year’s resolution: to kill off the health and safety culture for good.
“I want 2012 to go down in history not just as Olympics year or Diamond Jubilee year, but the year we get a lot of this pointless time-wasting out of the British economy and British life once and for all.
“I think that will take a lot of fear out of the health and safety monster and make sure that businesses feel they can get on, they can plan, they can invest, they can grow without feeling they are going to be strangled by red tape and health and safety regulation.”
So no mystery as to how the Grenfell tragedy was allowed to happen then …

Cameron has got a lot to answer too, destruction of social care, destruction of the NHS, war crimes and wants to kill health and safety, this is just like the rest of conservatives, EVIL AND NEEDS TO BE STOPPED.
I blame those who voted con, servative.

Pingback: Tories in 2012 branded health and safety “pointless time wasting” | Jaffer's blog
Health and safety has its place, but its now the catch all statement for overpaid bureaucrats, the H+S industry has become a monster, card for this, cert for that and college boys writing systems with no on the job experience or idea of how to implement the systems. It is trying to regulate for the incompetent, you can buy a trade card in areas of the UK and get a job with little or no training or at best a 1 day assessment, apprenticeships are gone and industry average age in the 50s, under most H+S systems if someone gets a splinter in their finger it takes 2 managers 1 day to investigate and file a report. the whole system needs a proper overhaul, technology is ahead of some regulations but they still have to be complied with. The real problem are CE standards that are lower than the old BS standards and and where lowered down to the common standard instead of bringing the standards up to the higher standard whether it was BS or TUV and instead of implementing more regulation their needs to be more investment in people and training instead of the blame culture we have now, and more cooperation between insurance companies and material standards.
This is from a former H+S manager in the construction and engineering industry.

“So no mystery as to how the Grenfell tragedy was allowed to happen then …” Absolutely none. David Cameron has blood on his hands – indeed he does.
