The Daily Mail is valiantly trying to spin Theresa May’s disastrous half u-turn on Tory manifesto plans to take homes off pensioners suffering from dementia.
But uncharacteristically, the Mail has had to close comments on its latest pro-Tory article, after it was inundated with furious criticism from their own irate elderly readers:
Fortunately for us, the ever excellent @DMReporter on Twitter has managed to screenshot a few of the highest-rated comments before they were closed down:
I smell something …

i think may is finished and the public are starting to wake up. as some of you know I have been recording the deaths of the sick and disabled over the past 7 years in going through welfare reform
There only a few of us in the uk that have been keeping the deaths recorded’ overall the public and press have been none the wiser as to what has gone on and is still going on behind the scenes
The public need to wake up as for me personally this has taken an awful toll on my mental health and if it were not for my NHS support I wouldn’t even be here
As I’ve already done 7 years of recording these deaths I could well do with a break but I’ve told my team that I will press on
getting rid of the sick and disabled is not in isolation am my NHS team clearly understand as the NHS and the work they undertake is at risk with many staff leaving the profession and moving abroad
Jeremy corbyn may not be to everyone’s taste but I can assure you he’s a darn sight better then any conservative has ever been ‘and having known many mp’s in my lifetime my view on them has never changed and at over 60 years of age they never will

also Esther Louise McVey, will be returning to politics as she is standing for George Osbourne’s constituency
In April 2017, McVey was selected to succeed George Osborne as the Conservative candidate for the June 2017 general election in his safe seat of Tatton

Her most shameful lie was when – as Home Secretary – she said VIP paedophilia was “just the tip of the iceberg” and then joined in the cover-up.

It’s perhaps worth mentioning I today had a comment removed from the Daily Mail after complaints, they said. I know this because they emailed me to tell me. I went to have a look, and was surprised to see the very same comment section mine had been deleted from still declared to be unmoderated 🙂

Im beginning to believe that she should step down. She’s struggling too much to be a leader ,I hate them all but if corby can add a bit of grit to his principles he might just make a good one.

There is no democracy with May. Local Council decisions have been overridden to allow fracking to pollute our air and drinking water tying us into decades of carbon emissions doing goodness knows what to the climate and industrialising our green countryside. It’s a Police state under May
