Channel 4 correspondent Michael Crick claims reporters are asking Theresa May questions which have been pre-chosen by her press team:
During campaigning, May’s press team regularly refuse to allow questions from reporters who are “not on their list”.
Interestingly, at a closed event yesterday in York, the first reporter Theresa May called by name to offer her a question was BBC political correspondent Eleanor Garnier.
A BBC reporter who also happens to be closely related to two Tory MPs – her cousin Mark Garnier and father Edward Garnier.
So no bias at all there then …
You can watch the whole weird press conference here (May takes questions from journalists at about 12.08):

Indeed, it’s not only Koenssberg. At last somebody is calling out Eleanor Garnier. She has spun a bizarrely pro-Tory anti-Corbyn interpretation of Wednesday Prime Minister’s Question Time on BBC Radio4’s The World At One, week after week for what feels like forever.
My antennae were picking up so much dodginess and bias that months ago I decided to Google her and discovered she is a member of a very politically active Tory family.
How does it come about that this appointment was ever considered appropriate? I worked for a time with a very intelligent guy who would have liked to work in the Civil Service. So why didn’t he apply? “My uncle was Kim Philby.” Good point. Some people, out of a sense of what’s appropriate, should surely eschew certain career paths?

Both your parents, your husband, your cousins and your aunts could all be right wing Tories but that does NOT make you a Tory or even a Tory sympathiser. My father was a life long socialist, my mother a Conservative, my uncle a Tory and my sister might now vote UKIP. But I have been a Liberal and Lib Dem since I was 18, and now I’m 70!
If there IS real bias, then report it with reference to words, phrases and behaviour, NOT simply by making family links. After all Boris’s sister is now supporting the Lib Dems and their father is utterly opposed to Brexit.

If you are going to claim bias, which is definitely around, at least give decent examples… here you claim that Garnier is accused of collaborating, by whom? You reference Crick but he makes no mention of her. He tweets generally that “reporters collaborate” and then makes reference to a specific comment but it’s from a man and actually suggests aggressive news management (i.e. bullying) from May’s aides rather than collaboration. It seems the only one accusing Garnier here is you but you’re trying a little plant of your own. Don’t get me wrong, this woman may be biased, I’m not familiar with her work, but you’ve presented nothing here evidentially. A piece about how May’s aides were bullying journos into revealing their questions beforehand would have been just as strong… and certainly more factually correct.

No real surprise here. It has become or perhaps always was the way. Planted questions manipulation of the coverage. Trump took the whole affair to new heights. Blatant lies are as of nothing these days. What a rotten world we are living in. Shame on the Tories.

May running scared. Doesn’t know the answers to some questions and doesn’t want us to know the answer to other questions. The difference between Tory Leader and Labour leader? Labour doesn’t need to put the “fix” in. Not that he would be given the chance to do so anyway by the biased BBC and mainstream news. Corbyn doesn’t need the questions loaded in his favour, because he doesn’t need to lie, or obfuscate, or misrepresent, or deceive and certain people think May is credible???? At least now we know why she did not want to argue her case on an all party platform. Remember Cameron? Ask him a question and he would respond with a load of car salesman waffle without actually answering the question, or just plain out lie or mud sling the opposition to divert the argument. May is no match for Cameron’s con man excellence.

Did you listen to the question? She asked two quite challenging questions, both of which were shamelessly ducked by May. So obviously these were not “planted questions”.

Martin, see video at 12:08,
1. Did anyone in cabinet oppose cap?
2. Are you guaranteeing that prices will not go up?
May did not really answer either!

This blog is getting ever more bizarre and desperate. NOBODY (except this blog) has accused Eleanor Garnier of collaborating with Theresa May, and if the questions were planted to favour the Tories then they could scarcely have chosen worse questions!

I’m sick of this, the bias is so blatent – Dimbleby, Kuenssberg, Harding, Humphrys – complaints don’t have any effect because the BBC hierarchy are of the same persuasion. Why wouldn’t they be – privileged, ‘I’m alright Jacks’ on big salaries – its inevitable really. Just sad they have no pride in doing professional, ethical reporting.
