The new UKIP leadership were ALL either failed Tory candidates or former Conservatives who failed to even become candidates.
UKIP’s new leader Paul Nuttall stood for the Tories in 2002 – and failed:
The chairman of the party Paul Oakden also stood – and failed – as a Tory candidate before he joined UKIP:
The moneybags behind the party – millionaire Arron Banks – was once a Conservative Party backer too – before he realised senior Tories didn’t even know who he was and so decided to give his cash to Nigel Farage instead.
Not only that, but UKIP’s new deputy leader, Peter Whittle, used to be a regular contributor to influential Tory mouthpiece ConservativeHome before he obviously realised he wasn’t posh enough for the Tories to become a candidate and scuttled over to UKIP to become one for Nigel Farage.
And, of course, we already know UKIP’s new leader Paul Nuttall already supports traditional Tory policies such as bringing back hanging and fox hunting, privatising the NHS, outlawing abortion and gay marriage as well as extreme climate change denial.

This might explain the new Kipper slant on trying to poach mainstream Labour voters having lost the plot. Thinking that just because they can attract voters who still yearn for Maggie Thatcher that somehow they will also appeal to middle of the road Labour supporters. I seriously doubt that such a mix would bake any edible pie never mind cake.

I saw a political party popularity survey (poll?) recently and it showed clearly that the tory party and the ukip group popularity were a precise inverse of each other. Tories more popular corresponded with a drop in popularity of UKIP and vice versa. Show very clearly over several months. Can’t remember source now but probably on FaceBook from a relatively reputable source. Could have been Which? or similar citing some polling org’n.

Victoria Ayling currently trying to get elected in Sleaford has stood in Grimsby twice, once as a Tory then as a UKIP. Ayling has also tried to be elected as Police Commissioner for Lincs, failed in each attempt. Don’t have to hear her for long to see why, she famously said whilst questioned in Grimsby election Q and A about renewable energy, “yes but what about when the renewables run out”.
