The new Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Stephen Crabb has a beard.

So it’s strange that the DWP seems to have decided that anyone who is unemployed will have their unemployment benefit stopped if they don’t shave:

Of course, Tories famously don’t like beards. Crabb is the first Tory minister since 1905 to sport facial hair.

Still. I suppose it’s not as bad as being sanctioned by the job centre for selling poppies. Or for attending a job interview:
