In 2009 the Daily Mail told its readers the UK would be better off if it was run by Tesco:
Well, we no longer have to wonder what the UK would be like if it were run by Tesco. Because the shambolic privatised Sussex ambulance service in disastrous meltdown at the moment is being run by a private company whose chairman is billionaire Tesco heir John Porter.
The company – Coperforma – is being paid £63.5m for this shambles:

That chairman by the way would be John Porter – son of the infamous disgraced Tory council leader Lady Shirley Porter.
So back to the Daily Mail‘s 2009 musings. What would the UK be like if it were run by Tesco?
It would be … disastrous, chaotic and shambolic.

Born to riches it is not difficult to realize that money and power lead to a need for more money and power. The strange belief that their narcissistic and psychopathic views of their ‘selves……’as somehow better……’ and allows them to bury their mouths in the communal wealth of our country as if their’s is a right……
Does not Mr Tesco Porter realize how Tesco started: On the back of a barrow in the East End of London……purpose to provide good food and essentials at reasonable prices…….Everyday shoppers buying everyday items. Sad to note that the spirit of this is now de-based by Capital and Greed and a sickening drive for ‘profit at all cost, driven by warped forms of self-satisfaction.

What has someone’s belief structure got to do with this in any way shape or form, would you please enlighten us all Christine. Or are you just upset that he has millions yes lots of mone and you have f@#k all, so think it’s okay to have a go at him for that and is religion. This blogpost is blaming ALL the wrong people. The Daily Mail is trying to sell newspapers, so it writes cr@p because that’s what sells. Private NHS contractors will always provide the minimum service for the maximum price in order to make profit. Only a fool would not understand this.
NHS privatisation is the responsibility of successive Labour and Tory governments (and the people who voted for them) and this blogpost doesn’t even mention them. PLEASE lay the blame where it actually belongs.

Norrie, it doesn’t mention them, because it’s irrelevant. Yes, the major govt created the internal market, yes the Blair govt carried on with it, but neither actually privatised anything. The 2012 act is the first to actually allow, nay encourage, privatisation of NHS services, and not just in a farming out ‘services’ exercise.
The internal market was a crap idea, Blair was never a ‘Labour’ anything, but what they did is utterly unimportant compared to what we need to be fighting against right now!

It’s not just about getting rid of this Tory govt., it’s about changing the way we do politics in the UK. Party Politics only works for the ‘party’. Not for us. Never for us. Where’s the risk involved here with this business? He’s been handed £m’s of OUR money; not the Govt.’s, they don’t have any to start with. He has most likely already taken his ‘cut’ and we see the result with what’s left. He’s made out like a bandit; we lose a chunk of our ambulance service; Politicians will get jobs in the private sector when they want them. Too much criminality. If there isn’t a law against this, there needs to be one.
