The conservative government has not been clamping down on benefit fraud.
Theresa May and her ministers have been attacking genuinely sick and disabled people instead.
There are now numerous cases of terminally sick cancer patients being told by the DWP they are unable to receive sickness benefit and will have to work or starve because they are supposedly ‘fit for work’.
We also have parents of child cancer patients having to rely on food banks because the Conservative government decided being a carer means you will get no help from our increasingly non-existent welfare state:

Another example of a victim of the coalition government’s slashing of help and support for the sick, disabled and dying was Chris Smith, a plumber from Leicester with terminal cancer who sadly died recently:
The fact is, that under the Conservatives, help for the sick and disabled in the UK has now effectively disappeared and the welfare state – in England and Wales at least – has already gone.
It’s time to stand up for the sick and vulnerable – or hope you or nobody in your family becomes sick or disabled.
Because unless you’re rich – you’ll be on your own.

I overheard a 96 year old lady suffering from cancer be told that her blue disabled badge had been suspended for six months as she managed to lift her leg to get into her front door. She was told to re-apply in six months. Sickeningly I have also heard a terminally ill man with months to live that he would have to wait weeks to get any assistance.The reason I can overhear these conversations is because I work in a public place where these vulnerable people are forced to go and divulge personal and intimate information. Some of them barely make it through the door. Callous, cruel and heartbreaking. I despair.

Macmillan are a very reputable cancer support agency.
My wife died of cancer (some years ago) and I can from personal experience tell you that any delays/questions about your financial affairs whilst a cancer patient can have devastating effects, especially at time of severe strain/challenges which, unless you have personally experienced it, you will have absolutely no idea.
Whilst I agree with the need to review “social spending projects” – the lack of sensitivity adopted by the previous coalition gov’t in introducing the changes (eg the bedroom tax) shows a complete lack of empathy with those who cannot afford private health care or/and are in need of financial support.

i would say as i am one of the main team that deals with all the deaths of the sick and disabled through welfare reform at the UN level and reports directly to them in that if you vote conservative at the election you will be voting for the death of others
The public need to be clear that a vote for the conservatives will cost many lives like what has happened over the past 5 years
i cant stress this enough and this post has been circulated to all of the main journalists in the uk as they all to often like to play the deaf and dumb card (i never saw that or heard about it )

Since the `deficit` followed by austerity is a huge con to begin with, and is no way to grow a shrinking economy, it is the height of evil to continue with it

This has included people really at the end of their lives, needing high doses of medicine and considerable palliative care. It shows just how stupid and inhumane the benefits system is, and the sheer obdurate cruelty of its architects – Iain Duncan Smith, Esther McLie, and David Cameron.
This isn’t just about saving money. This is about penalising the poor for being poor. The Tories genuinely see them as parasites, and wish to create a cowed, terrified workforce that will put up with absolute anything and everything, while big business and the Tory party rake in the profits. And that means the absolute destruction of the welfare state.

I have had a dangerous wishful thinking evening after Farage said this morning he wanted to restrict the BCC to public service broadcasting suggesting Rupert has been advising. Hopefully he has put off many Labour voters who value BBC programmes although I don’t mind if cost cutting sees the end of Dimbleby and Neil

How can this be contemplated let alone put into practice. They are still the nasty party. They are idiogically drawn to your on your own thick or thin. In just the case of health, that is an expensive business if it (health) fails. So Tories we Welsh have a tendency to care for all. You never demonstrate when able the same tendencies. R.I.P. to my dear friend Lotte, who sadly passed away in February from a terminal brain tumor that was taking her sight and speech … she told me in late December, 2 months before she died remember, that she was fighting the DWP for ESA.. where in gods name is the humanity in that, her last few weeks on earth spent trying to get the benefits she so rightly deserved. this cruel ,malicious heartless governmemt should hang it;s head in shame .. or preferably just hang

Not true, and making such a misleading statement only serves to divert attention from real issues over the level of some disability payments and the complexity of obtaining them. Imagine that I was Cameron, instead of getting into detailed discussion of these very real issues we would be wasting time in arguing over your statement. Yes, it may FEEL like welfare has been eliminated to someone who has waited months for it, but that is a fault of the beurocracy (sp) and not of the perceived absense of money.

I know plenty.od people claiming benefit fraudulently and the government know about every one of them. Have they acted on it. NO. My girlfriend who is disables has recently lost her pip claim which means she loses her car. If she loses her car she loses her job. How is that fair. She will have to go on jobseekers and ne hounded every day to get a job. She has a job you.morons. You are losing it for her.

I knew someone who had terminal cancer & had had a severe stroke,he was an electrician,he & his wife were living in a damp caravan with no hope of rehousing as not only had he been declared fit for work but also intentionally homeless. He died a short time later. He fortunately had McMillan nurses who got his benefits reinstated but not soon enough to make a difference. RIP little Graham,

does it not occur to you that SOME of those with large families originally probably had a “secure” job… that is, secure until the conlibs came into power. stop judging these people and judge those who have condemned them and other people to lives of living on or below the bread line. what your saying there is exactly what cameron wants.. split people. divide people.you want change? then vote for change. vote this evil lot out and labour in/ at least labour have a good manifesto.and i believe are more likely to make things better to some degree

I had brain cancer surgery last march found by having to pay for private MIR scan was told by surgeon I wouldn’t be here today if id waited for nhs scan. Had no benefits and my sick pay ran out in September
I have always worked and lived in this country all my life. What do I get ????? NOTHING

I too have been waiting 12 months for sickness payments, I have worked all my life and now due to a heart attack a stroke and also diagnosed with poor circulation and Hughes syndrome I can not work and have been declined sickness twice and deemed fit for work, I would love David Cameron to live a week of my life in constant pain and see if he can live on 50.00 a week if i could work I would but at 44 years of age and paid into the system since I was 15 to be told I cant have help is devastating to say the least.

Do you believe any party will change things back to how it was. It does not matter who you vote for the country is skint and can no longer afford anything and yes I am disabled, not entitled to any benefits and cannot work. I also spent 22 years in the Royal Marines defending this country and as the saying is “if you don’t like it leave” and try to get benefits from another country.

fking bastards the bloody lot of them there not worth any vote part from being voted to the nearest grave. my husband crushed both his legs at work 9 years ago now hes getting older he carnt walk very far we been fighting for it for them 9 years and the lady next door as a bad bk and fking gets it. she spends most of her time in fking bed pissed up. maybe I should claim for my bad bk which I’v had for 25 year and my thining of the bones hes got it all fking wrong we have lost £3000 a year already we carnt afford to buy oil for our hot water or heating we sit at night in our coats. I have a 15 year old daughter still at school I’m worried about the kids of today wondering what life is going to be like for them under Cameron if he gets in again and those that vote for he are thick as sht .he helps no one 1 part from himself when will ppl learn about the con.

My son john-paul was diagnosed with jmml leukaemia in january put in claim for dla for him was refused then apealed and was refused again the only cure was a bone marrow transplant which im pleased to say he has had and is now recovering well at home

All I know is that my mum has cancer, not terminal and receives over 500 quid a month in PIP payments. An she waited only a few weeks. I didn’t know there was a 3 month eligibility requirement and she certainly didn’t even wait the 3 months eligibility requirement, which our Macmillan advisor didn’t even tell us about and told us to apply straight away. An Macmillan own article tell the story of someone applying after 1 month.
I suspect it all depends on what evidence the oncologists, doctors are supplying and what people are filling in on the forms. My mum oncologists isn’t a good communicator but when it comes to filing the paperwork he does seem to be very good on that side of things and is fast with stuff on that side.
Macmillan don’t seem to provide much help in our experience, my sisted filled in all the paperwork, which is like writing a 20 page essay and took well over two hours. So I suspect that where the primarily problem lies people not properly filling the paper work, and putting the wrong details down. I suspect DWP probably lose a fair share of their paperwork as well.
Come Friday I hope Tories are voted out of government.

It is disgusting what they are doing to all these genuinely sick people. I have been on the sick myself since 2011′ I have fibromyalgia, angleosis spondylitis, Dercums disease, coccyxdemia, arthritis, ostiothritis, and chronic depression. I can hardly get out of bed let alone do a days work’ as for cancer patient my heart bleeds for them. I have been waiting 15 months to see of I qualify for pip and I am still waiting and struggling. This country has got all there prioritys wrong.

A friend of mine had cancer, fortunately this is now in remission. She is in her mid-40’s now but 5 years ago, when she was diagnosed, she discovered she couldn’t get anything…no income support, no help with her rent, nothing. Rather astonished by this, she asked her Macmillan nursing help for advice and they suggested going to see her MP at his surgery, which she did. Within a week, she was given the financial assistance she was entitled to..yes, entitled to – for some reason, this wasn’t given to her before she saw her MP to complain – and huge amounts of stress she was suffering from was lifted. She is still without a job even though she’s been trying for 3 years to get a permanent one, but is still able to just about cope with what she is given. So please, give your MP a go. It’s why we voted them in. Make them work for us, it’s why they’re paid.

I live in Wales, where the labour controlled council and the labour led Assembly are responsible for NHS in Wales and education. The results are horrendous. And this is not just because of the Tory Government, it was just as bad under Labour. God help us all.

This article is truly shocking, and I know it to be true as my daughter works in social care and says “ I work with families that have general health problems or disabilities but are being assessed as fit for work, which is disgraceful! I hand out so many food bank vouchers now in my job & some people, even working ones, still just can’t live!” How is it so many dyed in the wool conservative voters cannot see or simply don’t give a shit about this sort of stuff? I know Thatcher encouraged greed, but come on, people are dying here.

So it’s started already, STOP GIVEING TO OTHER COUNTRIES WHEN WE NEED THE MONEY OURSELVES. Why is it this government is always first to stump up with our money to solve other countries problems, it seems to me the old saying CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME needs to be put into practice here, this may seem harsh but we also have food banks, not enough housing, old folks going without, nhs in crisis, none of the politicians want to listen, this country is rich, so sort it out, stop giveing money away, think of us for a change.
