(not satire – it’s the UKIP!)
UPDATE: Walker seems to have deleted his Twitter account – obviously hoping he got away with it. I imagine he’s going to pretty unhappy there are screenshots of his comments (see below).
Bill Walker – UKIP’s parliamentary candidate for Aldershot – thinks Gurkhas and their families are parasites:
Shortly after this, Walker also retweeted a comment from a colleague referring to Gurkhas as “mercenaries”:
.
Wonder if it’s official UKIP policy that people who are prepared to risk their lives serving in the British Army are parasites?
Anyone fancy asking Nigel Farage?
.
Please feel free to comment. And share. Thanks:

Of course it isn’t, the British Army consider the Ghurkas to be very important members of the military family. I have served with Ghurkas during my own military service and they are very honourable people. They served alongside the rest of us and they should be recompensed the same with pensions etc.
The problem that Aldershot does have is that many Ghurkas do bring their entire families over here and by families, I mean the entire extended family; brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties, the whole shebang and they all get benefits.
Grandparents I can understand, because as your parents age it’s only right that you should want to take care of them and have them near you, but I can’t understand the whole rest of the family coming over to the UK. I always thought that the whole idea was that when the Ghurka completed service, they went back to Nepal to establish themselves, and I do know that a lot of them do, their military pension is enough to make them very well off in Nepal. However, there has been such an onslaught of extended families of Ghurkas here in Aldershot and the surrounding areas, that workers in places like the DWP and benefits offices are having to be taught the language because the families come over with no working knowledge of English. All they know is Nepalese.
I personally believe the soldier and his immediate family, wife, children have earned their right to live here in the UK, I just think that bringing the entire family which by the looks of it in Farnborough Kingmead bus station, comprises possibly a whole village in Nepal and who now all live in either Aldershot or Farnborough. It is a bit much.

I’m happy to accept that this was a fake account, if it was… although I am a little confused as to why that account name would be listed on the Your Next MP site as belonging to him if it does not.

STAFFORD
NATIONAL HEALTH ACTION
Karen Howell
Former nurse, health visitor, charity worker for the elderly, founder of Support Stafford Hospital campaign
22,047 Tory win in 2010
20,428 did not vote in 2010
16,587 votes wasted on Labour
Lib Dems not running in 2015 so maybe their 8,211 in vote in 2010 could go NHA
STAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL ELECTIONS SAME DAY
The actual hospital campaign group became also a political party to run as councillors this year.
SUPPORT STAFFORD GROUP
Stafford Borough also includes Stone.
Look at your wheelie bin to see if you are within Stafford Borough Council, as it will be printed thereon.
VOTE OUT THE TORY WHO DOWNGRADED THE HOSPITAL
Stafford gets regularly gridlocked with traffic off the M6, with no way to get across town for emergency ambulances.
Stafford has had the first baby born on the A34 en route north to Stoke.

It’s being suggested rather forcefully that it was a fake Twitter account. That doesn’t explain why the UKIP member’s Twitter account is also deleted.

First get ur basics right, its not extended families but just the first families that have right to be here. And your officials are very very very strict about it ofcourse!! You called these people for help at wars, where they helped you with bravery and courage risking their lives, a lot of ’em even gave their lives to protect the name and fame of so called ‘The Great Britain’. Now you r pissed over some pennies they take off you because they cant earn themselves. Not just as a british but you shouldnt be calling anyone parasite just because your generations donot see the importance of Gurkhas in the UK. Ask you grandparents, ask those british legends who were at war serving the country, why the country needed these poor people in the first place.
Now about misuing the benefits. Older people who cant work should get benefits, i dont see anything wrong on that. I have never heard aof a nepalese person living on benefits. If I had to scale it on my experience and pressumtion, it would probably come out to 1/1000 of nepalese on benifits whereas it would probably be 250/1000 of the ‘ able to work but living on benefit’ british people.
The nepalese people come here to seek a good life, a better life. If u have a problem with it then its your problem, insulting other people and their community is not going to help your stupid youths to realise how it feels to spent your own hard worked money. I have payed my taxes and so has everyone. My taxes might have actually helped a lot of you. Haha… just consider it a message to those who think they stink from the inside.. haha…

I would say that this shows the weird racism and xenophobia in UKIP almost at its most anti-patriotic and historically illiterate. Unfortunately, nearly every day brings news of another pronouncement by UKIP that is almost as stupid and offensive.
To most Brits, the Gurkhas are very far from mercenaries. They have fought courageously and proudly for Britain for over 150 years. This began after a battle between British and Nepalese forces, which impressed the Gurkha people that we were worthy warriors, with whom they could serve with honour.
Their contribution to Britain’s armed forces and their service fighting for us and with us is greatly valued by the British public. This was seen a few years ago when Joanna Lumley won a resounding victory for her campaign to get the public to lobby parliament to support Gurkha soldiers and their families.
Walker’s comments are especially offensive this week, when the British public’s thoughts will be with the Nepalese people following the devastating earthquake.
Looking down at the comments, there have been the usual claims that Walker’s Twitter account was hacked, and that this was a fake post by Joshua Bonehill. Well, it’s not impossible. The Yeovil Caudillo has a history of posting malign material under sockpuppets or under the guise of others in order to smear them. And he has recently done this to another Kipper. Unfortunately, it seems all too likely that this comes from Walker himself, following Raheem Kassam’s comment that Kippers will automatically claim their accounts have been hacked when their comments get them into hot water. Kassam is one of Farage’s advisors, so this pretty much comes from the horse’s mouth.
