(not satire – it’s the UKIP!)
As many as 18% of UKIP supporters think “Jews have too much influence” in Britain.
And 13% of UKIP voters are less likely to vote for a party such as Labour – simply because it has a Jewish leader.
These interesting statistics come from research by Tim Bale, Professor of Politics at Queen Mary University of London, who is writing a book on the recent history of the Labour Party.
To be perfectly honest, I’m a little surprised this kind of prejudice still exists in Britain today.
Although, on the other hand, nothing should surprise me about UKIP when it comes to prejudice.

I very much doubt that 13% of UKIP members are even aware of who is Jewish in the Labour Party I looke tompride but this is just bullshit propaganda, I really thought you were better than that, it’s reminds me of Britain first tactics, very shabby

Whether that is true or not, that is not what the study was asking. It was asking whether they were more or less likely to vote for a party that has a Jewish leader.

You have offered no reason to assume it is propaganda beyond your own sneering assumptions about what is, in any event, a separate question. TP has given a source for what he is reporting, and more than one site is reporting it, so what exactly is your problem?

Prejudices, racism and sectarianism are being actively encouraged by some. In the dark corners of the political ‘mainstream’ there are those blowing their dog whistles for all they’re worth. Party leaders are taking a laissez faire attitude rather than be the odd one out and the dailies are simply amplifying it. Whatever Nigel Farage says, the party is made up of members who were formerly in the National Front and BNP. Aside from the active members the supporters and voters are racists, misogynists and antisemites. Hopefully this election will be the beginning of their decline to obscurity. They were raised up by the free publicity given by the BBC. The ‘surges’ by the Greens and SNP look to be steady and permanent. Both have been around a lot longer than UKIP and look to be the future of the third party position. LibDems could be completely finished and Labour could gain from this, at least offsetting their losses to UKIP. Likewise the Conservatives could do the same. Although the Tories have only one seat to lose in Scotland Labour could actually be wiped out. This could spell the end of Labour in Scotland although they’ll be comforted by the fact that all lost seats will still be available for a coalition of some type. But now, trying something EVEN riskier, a potential link up with DUP!! A natural alliance? Both are unionist parties but Ulster unionism is somewhat different to unionism in the Home Counties. This is essentially an extremist group who are merely one step removed from UDA, UVF and other proscribed organisations who still have their guns at the ready. They have their ‘legal’ thugs in The Apprentice Boys, Orange Order and Black Order. They regularly engage in violence over ‘flag protests’ and travel elsewhere causing havoc, bottling a 12 year old girl in Glasgow last summer, attacking people unprovoked in George Square after the referendum. Yes, unprovoked, they arrived with weapons, started giving Nazi salutes and the police kettled them but whilst waiting for backup they broke loose and attacked everyone in their path. THESE are who the Tories are getting into bed with. DUP want this to ‘save the union’ and keep Catholicism down (yes, really!). These sectarian thugs tend to be extreme right wing on every subject. They are racists too and would happily ‘ethnically cleanse’ the entire UK. Hopefully this move will be seen for the desperately dangerous move that it is by their own members, power should not be sought at all costs, if they don’t learn that there’ll be nothing left to govern..

Professor Tom Bale is right: The Labour Party are unelectable as long as they have a Jewish leader in Ed Miliband — who is Jewish. Blue-and-white Ed needs to either step aside or renounce his Judaism. — It’s looking ever more likely [barring a miracle] that the Con-Lib Dem Coalition will be re-elected on May 7, 2015 — Vote UKIP for the Revolution!! — Russell Brand for our brand leader!!

According to the Faily Mail it was the spooks that fitted up Leon Brittan as a paedo because apart from wanting revenge for a shake up at their place he was organising they didnt much care for jews apparently well apart from their mates in mossad i guess then again it could be because of all that evidence of his paedophile activities they had on him

It is indeed sad to see that attitude still exists, but had the question been about a potential Muslim PM, I’m sure the numbers would have made far sorrier viewing.
We certainly would never have two thirds of the population unaware if one of the main political parties was led by a Muslim. We’d have the Daily Mail and the like screaming that sharia law was around the corner, ad infinitum.

This is quite astonishing, considering that Britain has already had one Jewish prime minister, at least by heritage, in Benjamin Disraeli. Back in the 1990s the Tory party was led by Michael Howard, who was also Jewish. For a very long time the oldest MP in the House of Commons was the venerable Manny Shinwell. In the context of the extreme racism and highly reactionary nature of UKIP as a whole, this is extremely worrying. It’s too much like the cry of the French rightists just before the Second World War, when they campaigned against the Socialist ministry of Leon Blum, who was also Jewish. Their slogan was ‘Better Hitler than Blum!’

I suspect the real problem Mr Ed Miliband will face is the accusation likely to be made at some point by the Tory media if not by Cameron in the head to head to debate can you trust the job of PM to someone whose personal ambition led him to stab his brother in the back. Cameron had a successful period taunting Ed about this at PMQis and seized upon the bid ti removed Ed last year. However Ed had turned the tables on the three last PMQ;s shifting the ground to the performance of the Prime Minister and making the GE a referendum on do you want five more years of Dave. We enter the Presidential election. It is notable that Ed is holding daily strategy meetings with a separate group involved in the policy manifesto creation
