The leader of Pegida – a rising German far-right group – likes to dress up as Hitler:

But just a week ago, the Daily Mail was so impressed with Pegida they sent one of their reporters to join one of its marches.
And after they got to know them, the newspaper decided the far-right followers of the Hitler impersonator were “rational folks“:
……… as well as “decent German people“:
Of course there’s nothing new about the Daily Mail enthusiastically supporting the rise of a far-right German leader.

Incidentally, Pegida is popping up in the UK too.

Mr Pride puts the recent Mail article’s supporting Pegida in Germany in its context, as part of a long history of the Mail supporting virulent right-wing demagogues with bad haircuts. As for the head of Pegida himself posing as Adolf Hitler, that’s going to be as or more shocking in Germany than it is on this side of the North Sea.
