More factually correct news from the channel of ‘fair and balanced’ journalism. Somehow this doesn’t surprise me. It was Fox News that a few years ago produced a map of the Middle East, which mislabelled Egypt as Syria. And then there was the American presidential candidate for the Republicans, who said in the 1990s that if Colonel Gaddafi tried anything, he’d bomb Karg Island off the face of the Earth. Despite the fact that Karg Island is in the Persian Gulf, nowhere near Libya.

Oh wow! I can’t count the number of times I’ve had to change coach in Birmingham while travelling between Manchester and the south, and all those times, I had no idea I was trespassing.

Apparently a great many of the US population have already taken this story and ran with it. I have had at least two Facebook posts about the fact that Britain now has ‘no go’ areas for non Muslims, our police are not allowed to police in those areas and that the religious police beat women up if they go into the areas dressed wrongly. *sigh*
Also, our English courts of law are also apparently now all Sharia Law. I don’t think anyone’s told the Magistrates, Police and Judiciary yet.
On the upside, the Fox reporter who made the statement about Birmingham being a no go area for non Muslims, has had to apologise to the Birmingham city’s officialdom. “I didn’t meant it,” he grovelled, gritting his teeth. “I meant no insult to Birmingham, it’s a lovely city.”
The trouble is now that all of the conspiracy theorists, people with tin foil hats, the ‘anti anything that moves’ brigade have picked up the baton thrown down by Fox and are running with it as fast as their little legs can carry them. I am not terribly fond of what is happening, but spreading that stuff is irresponsible. One group I am in on Facebook posted this:

The short version is that the horrific events in Paris recently in which many died are NOT apparently attacks from Muslim extremeists. They are, according to the demended brain of the writer of the article, a big play, a false flag, put up to ‘benefit the American/British empire.” I didn’t know we were joined in an empire with America. Apparently we’re suppose to think that all of the people who died are in fact alive, it was a big scam by the powers that be. I wonder how the families of those who lost loved ones and are grieving right now will feel about that.
Alternatively, their loved ones could now be in the witness protection programme after having appeared in the great scam.
I do sometimes wonder about people, and I despair.

Anneselby51 – the site you linked to, Humansarefree.com, looks like a fairly standard type of American Conspiracy site. Looking at the other contents, it’s all there – the New World Order, the Rothschilds, anti-vaccination, belief in suppressed scientific discoveries, ancient pagan practices and sects supposedly manipulating contemporary events, as shown by the Christmas tree. As for the stuff about the British-American Empire, that looks like some of the stuff Alex Jones comes out about America’s global domination as the only superpower, coupled with stuff from the LaRouchian Democrats and the Anti-Albionic Institute. Lyndon La Rouche and his lot believe that the British Empire hasn’t really gone away, and that we are in a battle for world domination with the Vatican. The Anti-Albionic Institute, who used to publish ‘Conspiracy Digest’, also believed pretty much the same thing, only with the twist that we were aiming to take back America.
So, in all, pretty much standard fare for the American Right-wing conspiracy fringe.

Bobchewie – Lyndon La Rouche said that the NHS was run by the KGB? Well, it makes a change from the usual nonsense that the international drug trade is controlled by the Queen from Buck House. As for the NHS, I suppose it makes a change from the usual Right-wing ranting that it’s somehow a Nazi organisation, because Nazi Germany had state medical insurance for the workers set up 70 years previously by Bismarck.

Beastrabban, you are absolutely right, it is a standard conspiracy theory site, but it is an example of the type of conspiracy stuff that is flying around the internet all of the time and you might, or might not, be surprised at how many people believe it.
The group that I got this from don’t normally post conspiracy theory items, they are a research group into Sumerian mythology, so you might wonder, as I did, why this turned up and for some reason one of the Admins allowed it. I am not one for conspiracy theories at all, but I was stunned to find out just how many in the group actually bought the story that the attacks were a big plan by the powers that be. It kind of shattered my faith really. I told them that it was inappropriate considering that people had died.
People wonder how it is that these myths and rumours abound in cyber land, well it’s because there are so many folk out there willing to believe, and yet, those same people will not believe the real issues out there with governments, such as our government and their genocidal plan for the disabled, unemployed and long term sick. For me it just creates a huge gap of disbelief that the same people who won’t believe that the disadvantages are being targeted are quite happy to believe that the French came up with an elaborate plan that involved a number of parties to pretend to be terrorists and others to pretend to be dead; for the rest of their lives in fact.
