The UKIP leader Nigel Farage has blamed the Paris shootings on the fact that not enough terrorists in France have a good command of the English language.
In an interview on LBC radio, the Ukip leader suggested it was “scandalous” that terrorist organisations in France were not recruiting people who could speak English well and said it was natural that most people wanted to be shot by attackers who can communicate successfully in English.
Asked if he wanted to “winnow out” those murderers who could not speak English, he told Sky News’ Murnaghan show:
“It’s scandalous, scandalous, that people are having to be killed by militants with strong French accents. We’re clearly not training enough murderers and terrorists in our own country to be able to kill in fluent English
“And I don’t know about you, but if I was going to be murdered by a terrorist that didn’t speak very good English, I’d be appalled.
“It’s not good enough. If fanatical murdering psycopaths don’t speak English and they’re dealing with English-speaking victims, they shouldn’t be deployed in the first place.”
It is unclear how many homicidal fanatical maniacs struggle to speak English to a high standard, but figures suggest that as many as 99.9999% of terrorists around the world were born outside the UK and have a poor command of English.

And before anyone else complains about my “offensive” satire, it was exactly the right to publish satire – even if it is offensive – that the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists died for.

Difficult to comment on this. Four of those who died were close friends/colleagues. The far-right, Front National in France, UKIP in Britain, will use this event to their own advantage. Beware … Organisations such as the FN or UKIP are not too keen on ‘free speech’ either.

Gone are the days of home grown terror. Now we have to import cheaper versions from the East. We are losing the necessary skills to compete, I mean, none of OUR youngsters can put a bomb together or field strip an AK47 these days! IRA, UVF, Black September, Red Army Faction and the Bader Meinhof Gang, we didn’t need imported terror in THOSE days! Sometimes many a true word is spoken in jest, perhaps through gritted teeth we’ll see where the problems lie..

Nigel Farage is spot-on with his comment, he nails the argument without mincing his words. Of course, the converse is true as well: There are far too few British terrorists who are fluent in French, so they should be sent abroad for training in linguistics as well as in ballistics and martyrdom techniques…. If you are going to take hostages then you should be fluent in at least 6 languages.
