(not satire – it’s the UK today!)

Why are UK immigration officials wasting their time (and taxpayers’ money) arresting obviously bona-fide visitors such as Serbian international footballer Zoran Tosic, who was visiting the UK to play in the Champions League against Manchester City?

Perhaps our immigration officials thought Tosic was in danger of absconding so he could start an exciting new life in Britain begging on the streets of Manchester?

Or maybe they believed he was thinking of giving up his international footballing career so he could find himself illegal work in a dodgy kebab shop on a backstreet in Wythenshawe or Salford or somewhere?

The UK immigration service is fast becoming an international laughing stock.

Still – makes a change from trying to deport our bona-fide hardworking NHS staff I suppose.
