(not satire – it’s the UK today!)
The number of homeless families has almost doubled during the last 3 years of our so-called economic recovery.
That means over 90,000 children will spend this Christmas without a home.
Meanwhile, this is what our newspapers are telling us:
.
Mind you, to be fair, most of our newspapers are owned by billionaire tax exiles who don’t even live in the UK.
So what would they know?
.
Please feel free to comment. And share. Thanks:

Astonishing. “The economy is on the mend”, “We’re all in this together” etc. And yet what’s really booming is homelessness and reliance on foodbanks. Ever get the feeling you’re being lied to?

I have been recently widowed and I have found out that in this country compassion does not exist, my sister was widowed 17 years ago and she received much more help than can be expected now. The widows pension no longer exists replaced by bereavement allowance which ends after one year and because I am disabled and in receipt of ESA my ESA has stopped. The widows pension was in place to cover the loss of your spouses earnings but only for those who are able bodied.
.I read of the homelessness with horror but without surprise seriously few people care.
The headlines scream about life getting better but I don’t know one single person for whom this is the case and while the media attacks Labour and its leader people are allowing themselves to fall for the lies. As a nation we must wake up and see what is happening we must take control and not let this government lie and cheat its way back into power.

with respect to you Tom – do you honestly think IDS & his ilk give one toss about homeless kids, they only care about themselves.

Sadly Janet’s letter say’s it all and government has divided the people of Britain and are destroying what was and in some cases still is a compassionate country. However, I am somewhat more optimistic but, then I do not have to face her daily burden of trying to survive and what I am sure are lonely days. Each and everyone of us can do our bit by voting Labour in the next election. I am not claiming they are perfect however, they are preferable to the path of destruction being created by the other main parties. Do not believe that UKIP is any better that is why the more right wing Tories are defecting and joining them. We are nothing if we do not care for our community and it’s people. Finally, Janet, I sincerely hope life gets a bit easier for you soon.
