(not satire – it’s G4S and SERCO)
Private companies G4S and SERCO have agreed to pay out £100,000 in compensation for restraining torturing kids.
This illegal “restraining” by staff working for subsidiary companies belonging to the two multi-billion pound conglomerates has even resulted in the deaths of at least two children.
G4S went on to deal with the problem of the torturing and killing of children in their care by promoting one of the members of staff involved in it to the position of Health and Safety Manager in their children’s homes.
And Serco went on to allow its staff free range to also sexually assault young women who had been put in its care.
Considering all of the above shocking facts – why are we still allowing these cowboy companies to run children’s homes and our children’s educational services?
Could it be because they have friends in high places?

One day Tom, I hope you will try objectively to lay the political blame where it actually lies. I think you have a moral responsibility to do so, because most of your readers believe everything you say without checking.

Where is the mention of Labour, Tories, Lib Dems or any other party in the blog post? In case you haven’t noticed, Blair and Brown are no longer the prime minister. Unlike you, I think torturing and killing kids is wrong whichever party is responsible for allowing it. If you want a site which spends its time bashing a party that came to power 17 years ago and ignores the actions of the present bunch of self-serving sociopaths who have been in power for the last 4 and a half years – I suggest you go to Murdoch lackey Guido Fawkes site. Or just buy the Mail. Or virtually any other mainstream media. You’ll find plenty of that there.

Finkfart is an asshead, always stirring up for trouble….. If we WERE talking politics, the Asian grooming gangs operated for years under LABOUR Councils in Sheffield and Rotherham, and other Northern cities as well.

Why did you try to assert that Cameron is responsible? You used the word “because” and linked it to Cameron. If that wasn’t what you meant, then please explain what your last sentence meant, because I can’t see that it has any other meaning.

Beadnall helped to restrain the 15 year old boy who died during the procedure. On other occasions, he was investigated for using pain-inducing distraction techniques too often. He sounds like a sadist. What is most alarming is that even after these events, he gets promoted. There`s something seriously wrong there.

No Tom, you’re wrong. I’m criticising for singling out the Tories as the sole cause, when you know full well they are NOT the only party responsible for giving those contracts to G4S, SERCO and others.
Also, why do you persist in trying to label me as right wing? Is that the only way you can cope with valid criticism? In fact I regard the current Labour leadership as little different from the Tories, which is why I’m glad to be able to vote SNP. I’m also glad that Labour Scotland now looks like it will start to break free from the Westminster Labour right-wing agenda. That being the case, I may vote Labour at the next election.

My daughter is in a G4S “home” in Northampton, we found out last week that they had lied to the gp & got her put back on strong meds that she had been taken off because of the side effects. We’re scared for her life in there.

Spent over 2hrs on the phone with my little girl last night listening to another resident threatening to kill her, break her neck, chuck her down stairs, phoned the police, they finally went out today & after listening to the corrupt manager decided that my little girl was at fault & their going to do nothing. She’s terrified & we can’t do anything.

Yes Tom, the contracts were exactly what almost all my posts were about, so I’ll try YET again……Would you agree that Labour is equally or more responsible for giving disastrous contracts to G4S and SERCO than the Tories, or Cameron in particular?
That’s also a question to anybody else who cares to answer, especially as Tom seldom has the integrity to answer for himself.

Sorry OBD, but he told me that he’s essentially retired from clinical work now. I didn’t reply to him and say “good”!
Even if he was available, I don’t think it’s responsible to recommend to somebody with serious current problems to seek a treatment which has no proven track record, and could only be described as “alternative” at best.
Tina – Instead I would echo Tom’s suggestion to bring your fears to light, perhaps first through the normal NHS channels (i.e. your GP first), but if that fails then using the media may help.

Tina – Can I also suggest that you seek advice from Citizens Advice (http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/). You don’t say if your daughter has been sectioned, or what kind of G4S “home” she is in. Perhaps the only useful thing I can say is that there is ALWAYS something you can do, but getting good advice about what to do is the problem. Most GPs really do care, and they understand the systems, so that is probably the best place to start.

She is in a normal childrens home, last night was the last straw & she got herself on a train back to us, she’s told her solicitor she won’t go back, now we have a waiting came.

That sounds like good news if she is away from a potentially dangerous environment.
Perhaps I can suggest that once you feel sure your daughter is safe, then that may be the time to try to highlight any failings of this G4S childrens home.

A survivor of CSA is not a good idea for the same reason that a perpetrator or someone who can’t stand up to the establishment is not a good idea. A survivor would be better than the current offerings but would find their actions questioned possibly even more so than anyone the establishment trusted.
The coming CSA inquiry, if it ever gets started, will be long, argumentative and bloody whoever chairs it must be above reproach from all sides and must insist that any findings of crime or cover up of crime result in criminal charges.
The chair must have the stature to carry the huge responsibility and be able to sort the truth and dismiss all the fiction and excuses that will be presented.
The chair must insist that the inquiry is open and s/he must obviously do that before the inquiry begins.

perpetrators must be found stopped, securely held, so as they can no longer be a threat to children and themselves be treated…not based on scandal, vengeance, revenge, recriminations, punishment nor discrediting people…my main concern is recovery from it’s affects which means that the victims natural ARMOUR is restored…
and that imv is what an inquiry should focus on…recovery…prevention…and therefore emotional health…if the inquiry shows no emotional health then it useless..

P.S. I apologise for the “paranoia” remark. You clearly do have reason to be cautious. But you know the reverse saying… just because they’re trying get you doesn’t mean you’re not paranoid!

The CSA Inquiry is not there to provide counselling to those in need. Its remit is to find what all/any institutions did that has not and should be changed. In itself that’s not enough since the one thing most victims want is to see their abuser tried for his/her crimes, nor does it make sense to have a string, and its a very long one, of crimes looked into but no recommendation for charges made against anyone.
All victims should be entitled to full counselling to help their recovery but that’s not what the inquiry is about and its not what victims want to come from the inquiry.

i have clearly stated that victims have RECOVERED…it should focus on methods of recovery that WORK and prevention…victims are TOLD or led to believe before the fact/case is heard, that conviction brings closure….this is NOT true…most victims tend to “protect” the abuser(s), and even when they stop protecting their abuser(s) it conviction still makes no difference to recovery…to recover from CA it is not necessary to convict one’s abuser(s)…but for other reason’s it is important to have the abuser(s) in preventive custody…if the victim is already emotionally healthy prior to the abuse/abuses talking place and can recollect their traumas without terror, ie with self esteem, then a healing from conviction can take place…most child sex abuse victims have very low self esteem and cannot, as they are too severely traumatized to do so..1st cure the affects of the trauma, locking up their abuser(s) cures NOT their victim(s)…

unless the inquiry is conducted with emotional health it is useless…
one really must understand the root issues before suggesting a line of remedy, this inquiry starts off in total blindness…CA, it’s causes and affects can be completely defeated, and most of these “institutions” can be shut down…

Some victims protect their abusers not most, most as is seen from the apparently endless list of unsolved/unprosecuted crimes never get the opportunity, and since many victims are eager for the CSA inquiry, with the right T & R and the right chair person, to begin it looks as though victims are very interested in seeing their abusers brought to justice.
I think you’re jumping to conclusions and confusing the CSA Inquiry with some sort of therapy that is not what its about and if therapy is what victims want they’ve no reason to want or need any inquiry.
This thread however is about those companies who have been responsible for abusing children being given more childrens homes and services to run so while it does relate to the CSA inquiry its not the sole concern of this thread.
I suggest we let the thread take its course.

yes, most CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE/CHILD ABUSE victims do protect, and are (frozen terrified) terrified of their abusers ie NUMB….like i have said if the victim, be it child or adult, is emotionally healthy before the abuse, then conviction may bring closure, but conviction is not essential, regardless…as i have stated conviction bears no fruit in recovery…it is you who tries to confuse the issues, as if is “some sort of therapy” not me…the inquiry has no point UNLESS it brings healing and reconciliation for all, CITIZENS and this is in PREVENTION AND RECOVERY..to clear up corruption is wonderful…that is a SOCIAL act…

I think that it is the responsibility of the current government to reverse the idiocy of the previous government.
If they don’t and they allow these sorts of contracts to continue (which of course they will because it profits them to do so) then they are just as culpable as the previous government. By not acting, they are condoning.
