(not satire – it’s the UKIP!)
Why is the UKIP and the UK press openly lying to us about money from Mike Read’s Calypso song going to the Red Cross to fight Ebola?
The proceeds of the song were going into UKIP coffers – not to the Red Cross or any other charity.
But don’t take my word for it – here’s a tweet straight from the horse’s mouth (3 days ago):
.
Not only that, but nowhere on Amazon does it mention the proceeds from the song going to charity.
And the British Red Cross have said they have not even been approached by UKIP about benefiting from the song.
So why are the UK press lying to us?
.
Here’s the Telegraph:
Here’s the Mail:
Here’s Sky News:
.And even the local newspapers are lying about it:
.
Hate to break it to you folks, but you’re being lied to.
And the UK press think you’re so stupid they can get away with it.

This is another communistic diatribe of incorrect information to tittilate the leftie luvvies. The newspapers I read all said that it was UKIP that offered to donate part of ITS’ revenue from the ditty; nowhere was it reported that Amazon said the proceeds were going to Red Cross!! Amazon had nothing to do with apart from selling it and taking the majority of the money on which it won’t pay UK tax.
Why would the Red Cross think that anyone should approach it about giving it money.

Too be fair to the press (for once) they are reporting that the Red Cross have rejected the offer from Ukip. Which makes me question, if the Red Cross say they’ve not been contacted, does that mean someone is falsely claiming to have offered them a donation. Are Ukip claiming they have approached the Red Cross?
At the end of the day you would have thought that the papers would have checked with the Red Cross instead of reporting an incorrect story.

It looks to me like the Mail (I think) asked the Red Cross what WOULD they do if UKIP offered the proceeds to them, and the Red Cross said they hadn’t been approached by UKIP but IF they were they would have rejected it.
The truth is the Red Cross were not approached by UKIP and UKIP didn’t offer them the money. The proceeds were going to go to UKIP (and Amazon/itunes/record label of course) and presumably Mike Read. But now UKIP can say they were going to offer the money until the Red Cross told the Mail they would reject it.
Which is a complicated way for the press to lie but get away with it.

Tom – That sounds about right…… but it doesn’t match your headline, does it? Of course you never criticise other journalist’s false or simplistic news headlines, do you?

I have just listened to this song……it really should be dismissed and not taken seriously……the problem is at this time of unrest….it can fuel rascism.
The Labour frontbencher Chuka Umunna said the song was distasteful. He added: “A lot of people have said they think it’s racist. I don’t know whether his intention was to be racist.”
So, was it produced with ‘good’ intent or not ?
Or was it merely titillating propaganda?

I’ve seen no reports that UKIP approached the Red Cross, the UKIP statement said they would contribute to the Red Cross – not the same thing. But, the Red Cross with its’ PC liberal/labour controllers, possibly after seeing how UKIP had kicked labour in the recent by elections perhaps saw a way of causing some aggro.
No comment about Amazon then??
