Sometimes Daily Mail readers show their true faces – and they’re as ugly and vile as you would expect them to be.
Here are just a few of the nasty and downright racist comments in the Daily Mail today after it was announced that Malala had won the Nobel Peace Prize:
“Send her back home.”
“How come she’s still here?”
“The UK taxpayer has been stumping up the bill for her to fly around the world.”
“Sick of hearing about her.”
“A joke. She has been awarded a Noble Prize for stopping a bullet?”
“I just find her annoying.”
“Why is she still here?”
“Living off the taxpayer.”
“Praise some British kids for a change.”

Remember, these comments are about a little girl who was shot at point blank range by the Taliban for wanting to go to school and – despite still being a target for assassination – is still willing to speak up for a girl’s right to education.

The thought that we have to breathe the same air as some of the people who comment on stories in the Mail is depressing to say the least. They seem to be people with the smallest brains, least compassion and a total overdose of mean spirited inhumanity. And they have all turned to UKIP.. is there a form of correlation there do you think?

I happen to think some of the comments are quite justified, jumping on the politically correct wagon rather than think for yourselves is as bias as race hatred and xenophobia.

I’m sat with my mother (84) who just said at least half of those comments. But last night she did ask why people are always killing over ‘different versions of a sky fairy’, so she’s not always wrong.

Whoa! The true putrid bile comes out now! This is what festers under the surface in the hearts and minds of many people in this country who are stuck in their narrow little worlds, filled with resentment and hatred of all people considered ‘other’. UKIP and the unprecedented amount of media coverage showered on this shameful excuse for a ‘political’ party gives credibility to these ugly views. Opinions like those spouted in the Daily Mail in response to a young woman’s recognition for her courage, for surviving and speak outing, are no different to those of the Taliban and ISIS. Shame on you people so lacking in compassion and imagination.

Othering, differentiating people based on the perceived group they belong to in order to create imbalanced power structures emphasizing a superior and inferior between the groups. See for this example whatever Malala’s achievements are, is void to these people because she is part of or perceived to be in groups considered “the other” from the superior norm. She is in effect being dehumanized because she is an immigrant, a Muslim and perceived to be a benefit scrounger.

When The Daily Mail is your window on the world. is it any wonder that the view from your window is warped? I pity these people who are too hard of thinking to come up with a view of their own and rely instead on the fear mongering and racist propaganda they have drip. drip, drip fed to them by Paul Dacre’s band of Muppets from hell. Ironically these people with their shiny white brainwashed minds probably all sing along to John Lennon’s “Imagine”, because it’s a lovely song. Just about every day there is an article in the in the DM that screams something like. “Bloody thirsty, burqua wearing halal eating MUSLIM woman parks in disabled parking space at Tesco” When a young woman takes a courageous principled stand in very dangerous circumstances the DM mention that she a muslim in the final paragraph

Not all the comments are like these despicable people. I see you haven’t included any of the positive comments from Daily Mail readers. As with all forms of reporting there is good and bad in every community. I read the DM and I think this young teenager is wonderfully inspiring and well deserving of the award. This is not the last we will be hearing of this very brave young lady.

Why do the so-called Taliban have a problem with education for illiterate youngsters in Pakistan? Just like, why do IS gangsters want to ban music, which is a world cultural asset to many races? It all beggars belief why such groups would be so bigoted and irrational. I think Malala is a brave girl and lucky to survive being shot in the head, but awarding her the Nobel Peace Prize seems somewhat bizarre, because on that rationale they should also have awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Ronald Reagan (who got shot) and before that to John F. Kennedy, posthumously, (who got shot and killed).

I recall years back of an african doctor who received the nobel peace prize for his work and could have flogged both himself and his wares in the western world for a fortune, but decided to go back to his own poverty stricken country to save the sick and dying there for no financial reward.

We may rightly think that the selection of DM comments above are so wrong on so many levels. We must realise that this poison has been pumped out by the neo-cons in Westminster and their supporters, including the press and the BBC (sadly), and that the only losers are the masses. Even the BBC has given so much air time to UKIP that people often think they have loads of MPs (also highlighting the ignorance of the voters, too.) Ignorance is the friend of the neo-cons & fascists & eugenicists.
The 1920’s and 1930’s saw much the same, with much the same outcome, in Germany, and 1950’s Stalinism in the USSR. It’s text-book classic propagandist techniques of the fascists. My fear is what happens when these types have been wound up too much for their own incoherence to bear?

Firstly, when you think I must be a flunky of someone else who disagrees with you, you’re just giving away glimpses of your essentially paranoid worldview, which I admit is quite entertaining for us all. Could I possibly be getting under your skin? 🙂
Secondly, I’m guessing here but I imagine that the Nobel prize committee didn’t think “Ooh, there’s an Indian girl who has been shot – let’s give her the Peace prize.” My hunch is that it’s something to do with risking her own life to campaign for the right to education for girls in societies and parts of the world that think that ignorance is preferable to education.
Based on my own experience, I suggest there is a connection between education and the generation of peace and tolerance, but I can understand how you might see that very differently.
And much as it’s been nice chatting to you, I notice that the sun is now up and I wouldn’t want your whole trollness being turned to stone. You had a lucky escape last time that it was just your brain that got shone upon.

It’s not one or the other. Malala has nothing to do with the mistreatment of the working class but the perception of her group identity has everything to do with the comments degrading her and relying on stereotypes. Her care is/was paid by the Pakistani government as their services are inadequate and she can’t go back home as the Pakistani state is very dangerous for anyone outspoken, their own security forces have been heavily infiltrated by fundamentalist extremists so any guard assigned to protect her could very well end up being the one to kill her. I think it’s very pathetic to be jealous of a teenage girl who was almost murdered. Stop falling for the divide and conquer bullshit. Everyone should be treated with respect as individuals and free from dehumanizing abuse, just because one group is treated badly is not a free pass to treat another group like dirt. If we send Malala and all the other immigrants home, it isn’t magically going create a new utopia and make the elites suddenly softhearted.
Lastly,I’ve “been swallowing too much political correctness text at university?” Oh really? Oh wait, yeah I remember, ‘Political Correctness’ class was lodged in between ‘Indoctrination to Cultural Marxism’ and ‘How to be a Do Gooding Bleeding Heart Liberal’.

I certainly agree that those are rather disparaging comments on the subject. But characterising that as racism is such an utter failure to understand the conservative mindset. Race has nothing to do with it. They’re being idiotic because they’re attacking something/someone who will actually help create the kind of world they’d prefer. But they’re really not being racist. And liberals need to try a lot harder to understand why reactionary conservatives have these kinds of views. If we’re to believe the authorities we are all under threat from the Taliban in Britain and we all respond by telling them to get lost -should we all receive Nobel Prizes for that? The more likely explanation for all this artificial adoration is that the pc-riddled Western governments are seeking as many Madonnas as they can find to place on pedestals and expect the rest of us to worship at their feet, these Daily Mail comments are from people who can see through their game and resent being asked to play it.

Quite, it was more of a passing comment that serves to extend the discussion into areas not perhaps immediately relevant to this narrow subject so I’ll simply say that we live in an age that seeks to supplant the male as the dominant gender with the female -the all-pervasive instrument used being political correctness the effect of which is perversely to turn all our accepted social values topsy turvy- part of that process is to portray the female with grotesquely exaggerated positive gifts and virtues while depicting the male as extolling wretchedly negative qualities: note how the media invariably illustrate any positive subject with females and negative with males. They powers that be also endeavour to re-write history so anything of a positive constructive nature in the past must be seen as having a prominent female input, arguing the female has been deliberately written out of history by biased males, while at much the same time they depict the female as the perennial victim telling us that she was not allowed to participate in any positive activity by the dominant male: thereby seeking to derive benefit from simultaneously adopting both albeit contradictory claims. Regarding this discussion -a girl shot in Pakistan for campaigning for girls to have a right to schooling and thereafter settled in Britain being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize- I thus said might best be understood against that wider background.

Yep, Terence, I agree I think we’d better agree to differ. Our perceptions of the world are so different that I’m quite mystified to be honest. But at least we didn’t descend into abuse (which I sometimes find tempting! 🙂 ). Just one comment though. I’ve noticed that PC seems to have become a right-of-centre term of general abuse, like ‘do-gooder’ before it (which also perplexes me when I consider the alternative).
I have difficulty with the equation ‘PC = a BAD THING’ as the alternative to PC seems to be ‘political incorrectness’ or the licence to bully, stigmatise, marginalise, abuse and suppress.

This is the sort of simplistic statement to be expected of females who by the nature are so subjective they see everything from a very personal view-point – in truth I own not to being overly fond of the female of the species although `hate’ is such a profound emotion that it gives my dislike of the gender far too much significance – sorry but my feelings are far more prosaic than that, they simply incline me to put distance between myself and the opposite gender and everyone is happy with the outcome.
