(not satire – it’s Nick Clegg!)
Tucked away in the middle of a question and answer session with the press today, David Cameron has officially confirmed that Nick Clegg is never given any powers in the coalition government.
Cameron was asked about the wisdom of resuming his holiday with UK military involvement underway in Iraq.
This is what he said:
“In terms of making sure that the government is properly represented at all levels, I always make sure there are senior ministers on duty in Westminster. But I don’t hand over the government to a deputy.”
When Cameron says “a deputy” he’s talking about his Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
Nice to have it confirmed from the horse’s mouth.
