I think it translates roughly to: “If you want niggers for neighbours, vote for Labour.” The banner bottom left says, “We love Putin”. “We want your rubles at conservatives.com” is the lower strapline. Appalling, really.

A friend of mine who is reasonably fluent in Russian confirms ‘It translates as if you want a nigger for a neighbour vote Labour.’
For those who were not around at the time, this was the election slogan adopted in West Bromwich at the time when Enoch Powell was elected as an MP.
Frankly, I do not believe this is a real Conservative poster for use in their 2015 general election campaign.
If they were ever to use it, they would get well and truly roasted – even by the right-wing media in this country.
Remember what happened when Mrs May ran her anti-immigrant poster campaign?
The reaction on that recent occasion was extremely negative. I cannot believe the Tories would risk a similar reaction in the run-up to the next general election.
Conclusion? It is a spoof poster.

The Russian means ‘If you want a N*gger for a neighbour, then vote Labour’, as used by the Tories in the 1964 General Election. It’s a comment both on the continuing, cynical used of racial populism and the immigration issue by the Tories, and their appeal to rich Russian oligarchs.

The Ukrainians are beging used as a political football by Europe, poor people.
A rich billionaire now rules the Ukraine.
The bail out promised from Europe will means the poor will starve, because bail outs means that in each indebted nations. What Europe commands is the poor must die.
The International Monetary Fund is overstating debt, according to the Economist.
More bail out, only means the poor suffering more.
What is the point of being part of a Europe that only offers starvation?
Russia is a wealthy nation on Ukraine’s border.
Are we really going to war between Europe and Russia over parts of Ukraine lived in by Russian villages?
We, the English, already made that mistake with the Crimea not so far back in history.
Now a civilian plane has fallen victim, which should never have been flying over that airspace anyway. It is my hope that the victims’ families sue the regulators of European airspace direct as a group.
What should be happening in Europe is a mass default of debt to the EU/IMF and leaving EU membership, that threatens the world economy and more starvation.
Russia, China, SE Asia, Australia, even Peru are far better trade partners than any nation in Europe, long being out of recession.
The banks could compulsory grab all the assets of the EU government, both built and in banks, to stave off becoming bankrupt when the nation states default.
Each nation could easily return to its own currency and deflate.
England has no national debt, which has to be over 100 per cent all the time, which has not been during the Coalition.
Welfare and pension reform in England has cost more money in admin and left people to starve.
It is England’s version of the horrors inflicted on Greece by Europe, where even the poorest with nil income are taxed to death.
Our version is the Bedroom Tax, when MPs get £20,100 per year second home allowance (so paid for extra bedrooms).
The £100 is the money taken from the oldest pensioners from Winter Fuel Allowance, which results in 30,000 early deaths each winter.
As you do not know what the Greeks are suffering, you do not know how silly it is for the Ukrainians to want to be part of Europe that will just beggar their nation into a Greece.
It is bad enough that all our current political class are copying Europe’s horrible trail of misery upon the Greeks in Greece, almost to the letter, adapted for England.

This thread seems to have gone off-topic but – as it has – it occurs to me that maybe we could turn the bedroom tax to an advantage by demanding that the next government introduce a universal bedroom tax so that wealthy owners of large properties – which clearly include many bedrooms – end up paying more than the pathetic council tax demanded of them. It’s just a thought…….
There was a windows tax in the past; maybe it is time for a modern day equivalent in the form of a bedrooms tax?
The way council tax is currently structured is enormously regressive in that once a property enters the top band the owner pays the same regardless of whether or not their property value was rated as just entering – or vastly exceeding – the relevant top value band.
It will come as no surprise that MPs have dodged dealing with the question of re-rating property values for decades now.
It may also be that property developers are reluctant to build new properties as it may be the case that new properties are rated much higher than older properties.
I admit: I don’t know.
It would be useful for someone who does know to provide this information…….

imo the broad solution to break the now commodified housing crisis deadlock, is for govts to launch a mass social eco-housing building programme, which includes self build…which they won’t coz house prices and rental values will plunge….the wick is on slow burn to keep prices up, and their voter pool intact….capitalist govts do not want a manufacturing/industrial fully unionized/powerful socialist working class based uk economy…it has moved away from such since @ least 1979 on…

I guess it was used quite casually back then. As an example, I don’t remember the question, but in 4th year juniors, probably 1981, we were using an old English Language text book and that word was one of the multiple choice answers. The teacher was shocked, and said we could all carefully scribble it out as it wasn’t the correct answer.
