As a former TV presenter, McVey knows exactly how important image is – and clearly these Gaza residents are also aware the eyes of the world are upon them and their choice of outfits during the Israeli assault:

While some might give top marks to the Israeli defence forces for their show of overwhelming force against defenceless civilians – no-one can deny that Gaza under attack is a very fashionable – and stylish – place to be.

It really is getting to this stage Tom. I have been doing it myself referring to Netanyahu’s magnificent pyrotechnic display and suggesting he bring it to London. Sometimes it seems humanity has lost the plot. And I do like your take on it I just wish it had some effect on the likes of that … (how can I say this politely) … Ester McVey

The tories will know terror come 9 October when Patrick Rock, former tory parliamentary candidate, old friend and former internet porn adviser to David Cameron at No 10, general all found tory good egg, is due to enter a plea at Southwark Crown Court in answer to charges relating to the possession and making of indecent images of children. Press coverage thus far has been low key to absent, and full advantage has been taken at every turn to find or supply predictable events which have put Rock and his problems somewhere close to the late Greyhound results.
