There has been some criticism of Theresa May’s decision to appoint Lady Butler-Sloss as chair of the VIP paedophile inquiry.
Most of the criticism has centred around the fact Lady Butler-Sloss sits in the House of Lords and may have to criticise her fellow peers in the inquiry.
Personally, I think much more worrying is the little mentioned fact that Butler-Sloss will most certainly have to investigate a close member of her own family.
Her brother is former Tory MP and Attorney General Sir Michael Havers – who also happened to be one of the establishment figures alleged to have argued for the protection of the identities of VIPs accused of child abuse.
But don’t just take my word for it.
Just 4 days ago – before it was announced Butler-Sloss would head the inquiry – the pro-establishment Daily Mail had this to say about Havers:
But it was also Butler-Sloss’s brother Havers who – as Attorney General under Margaret Thatcher – defended the decision not to prosecute the VIP paedophile Sir Peter Hayman in 1981:
And in 1983, Havers was accused by the Sun Newspaper of withholding information about a convicted paedophile’s membership of the Paedophile Information Exchange during his trial “to avoid embarrassing security chiefs”:

Perhaps Butler-Sloss will have no qualms about investigating her own brother for being part of an establishment cover-up of child abuse by VIPs.
But just in case – perhaps it’s better that someone else is given the job of leading the investigation.

Wow. That is so interesting and deeply worrying. The ‘establishment’ has tentacles everywhere. Impartiality is impossible with this lot. Is there anyone left with integrity as this again shows they really are “all in it together”. What a tangled web.

Nice one Tom – Absolutely and sickeningly correct. Also the remit of the enquiry to be chaired by Butler-Sloss is (deliberately) so ridiculously wide that it will be an impossible, endless task. Politicians and others can now avoid responsibility for the foreseeable future simply by saying “Let’s just wait for the outcome of the enquiry”.
Also, Butler-Sloss will probably be dead or mentally incapable well before this ‘enquiry’ can reach a conclusion, so then there will be another massive delay while another chair is found and ‘comes up to speed’, or it may be shelved permanently.

Another potential conflict of interest, as Butler-Sloss will have to investigate Sir Michael Havers, her own brother, for protecting paedophiles. Any chance this inquiry really will be open and transparent, or another whitewash in which the perpetrators, after one or two have been sacrificed to appease public opinion, will scurry back into the darkness and carry on as normal?

And Rebekah Brooks was defended by Cameron’s brother……..the fix is in.
Surely as her brother has this history Baroness Sloss cannot be any where near this.

On the internet this AM I saw a Youtube vid of Butler-Sloss in the Lords (in the bosom of her family so to speak) publicly apologising in 2012 for having knowingly (?) lied. This concerned an accusation which she made against Fathers for Justice (oh, the irony) to the effect that they had issued ‘death threats’ against her. They had not. The fulsome apology lasts for about 2 minutes. Also on the net is a news story concerning another ‘enquiry’ which she headed up in the South of England some years ago involving sexual assaults on youngsters by 2 Church employees. The BBC, no less, had investigated the findings and reported on the ‘factual errors’ contained in her report. The ‘errors’ were to the benefit of the accused. I believe that these items may be found on the facebook page of Michael Doherty.

WOW ! The government go for yet another attempt to cover it up. Yet again, this stinks to high heaven and is like telling a murderer that he is to be judge and juror for himself !

No he wasn’t, heard this all over the place and it’s simply untrue. He is head of chambers that her barrister is from, but barrister practices are not like traditional companies, all the barristers are self employed and the head of chambers are not bosses.

The fact that Lady Butler-Sloss has not quit in spite of her integrity being questioned by numerous credible people, including victims of child abuse, proves that she does NOT have the integrity to perform the task.

If you think the Head of Chambers doesn’t exercise control over the barristers and what work they do, then you are badly misinformed. To all intents and purposes the Head of Chambers IS a boss.
…and if you also think the Cameron brothers didn’t discuss how to ensure that Rebekah Brooks wasn’t found guilty then you are far worse than misinformed!
