The government has unveiled plans to reduce the worrying spike in the number of homeless people across the UK.
And hosing them down with water.
And confiscating their bedding and belongings.
And allowing rents to increase dramatically.
And taxing bedrooms.
And capping housing benefit for low-earners.

Nice the see the government isn’t ignoring the homeless.
Although it might be better if it did.

It is common knowledge that London is full of pricks.

It’s a pity that they dropped that bye-law, as it would have outlawed Holy Communion (which includes a morsel of free food) whilst the soup runs could still continue if the charities charged each recipient the sum of one penny.

Bet they will soon be removed when someone trips and it causes them an injury and they are prosecuted for it

This is how the government maintains the illusion that somehow it has solved the homeless crisis. Because after all, it’s out of sight, out of mind. Way back in the 1990s, the spoof news programme, The Day Today, ran an item alleging that the police were clamping the homeless, in which they managed to take in one of the female pop stars of the period. What was a joke then becomes, unfortunately, just that bit more credible now.

Whatever next… Londoners will be installing iron railings around their posh London mansions and making the tops of the railings spear-shaped!

It’s a damn shame the people responsible for making these policies and implementing them don’t suddenly find themselves homeless.

That’s disgusting, but it doesn’t surprise me. With the addition of a few planks the spikes could actually prevent people from having to sit/lie on cold stone.

There was a great comment with this picture from a certain ‘Warren Crawford’ on fb today that sums it up beautifully: “All a homeless person needs to do is find a wooden board to lie on…those spikes will raise it off the floor and keep them nicely insulated from the cold ground. So fuck yerself, whoever thought up the spikes.”

This is just another example of lack of humanity in government, its vile and I think homeless people should be invited to meet goverment and challenge them, this of course would not happen as the homeless are also voiceless as
they have no vote.
This country needs to take a leaf out of Icelands book and get shut of corrupt bankers and government.

The most shocking thing is that measures such as this have apparently been in place for years, yet it’s only making the news now…I also wrote about this issue on The Growing Divide (http://poppyreece.wordpress.com/2014/06/09/homeless-people-treated-like-pigeons/)
