(not satire – it’s the UK today!)
Paralympian wheelchair basketball player Jon Pollock says he has been “tossed on the scrap heap” after being refused any benefits when he became unemployed.
He also said the Job Centre was “absolutely useless” when it came to helping him find a job and that the only advise he got was from a woman in the job centre who advised him to do unpaid charity work.

Haha! Unpaid charity work? Are they joking? Aren’t these the very people who expect the unemployed to do “work experience”?

You are not wrong there, I am getting to a point where I am correcting this outright lie that volunteering helps your job prospects. Its a lie, tosh, rubbish, propaganda.
If people want to volunteer, it should be something they believe in, to try and use it to get a job in a supply and demand labour market, where demand for jobs outstrips supply, is a pointless exercise and all it helps in many cases is a dud charity that’s sole purpose is to line a mans pockets.

At the time of the Olympics, disabled people were been driven to penury & suicide by one of the sponsor of the games – ATOS. Even though it was common knowledge what was going on, the Paralypmians ignored the suffering of the disabled, little realising that they too had to face the same treatment.

A lot of them were critical of how the government were treating disabled people. They campaigned against cuts. Trouble is mainstream media wasn’t interested, it still isn’t so very little publicity.
