Ben and Emma Godsland both worked – until their severely disabled daughter Poppy was born and needed round the clock care.
Poppy’s mother Emma gave up her job to look after Poppy – who needs specialist equipment and care or she will die.
But Poppy’s parents are going to lose their home because the DWP has decided to withdraw their social security payments which helped them to continue looking after Poppy.

Consider this.
Even if some other maggot gets into power, this system won’t change, in fact history has proven that things only get worse for the poor, needy, sick, and elderly.
So why are the UK people sat supporting a system of government that actively targets a sick and disabled babies?
Or, like the rich and politicians, do the majority not give a damn anymore?

This is disgusting. It’s yet another example of the attack on the very poorest and most disadvantaged by the government, all in the name of austerity. Or rather, their naked class interest. There really does seem to be no depth that this government won’t stoop to.

What sort of government targets little babies? Even violent criminals generally don’t target little babies and heartily dislike anyone who does. The sooner we get rid of Cameron and the Fib Dems the better. I’m sorry that Cameron’s son died but he shouldn’t kill other people’s children because of that.

I know this won’t meet with general approval on this web site (that’s an understatement!) but maybe this is the right decision. It appears to be a normal family in most respects – one parent in full-time employment, one full-time parent/carer, and one child. The difference is that the child is chronically sick, but she is apparently receiving good, free care from the NHS (as is her right), So is it costing this family anything above that which all parents of a young child have to manage? Apparently Carers Allowance, Child Tax Credits, Housing Benefit and Child Benefit will still be paid. DLA for children may be necessary as the child gets older, and that has not been excluded.
The real point is that there are FAR more appalling injustices imposed on vulnerable people by this and the previous government than on this family.

Did Cameron claim DLA? I can’t find any evidence that he did. Can you provide a link to it?

hi finkfurst…i did hear the LOWLIFE CAMERON…admit to applying for DLA on tv….however he may or may not have got it….it’s certainly not unknown for it to be turned down the first time…so he may have indeed have known the right contacts…i would not it past the shifty little bastard….THE FIGHT GOES ON….regards sandra.

Sandra – I don’t think you’re right. I think he only said he understood about the form, not that he actually applied for DLA. I can’t find any account on the web of what he really said, can you?
I don’t disagree that Cameron’s a shifty bastard, but he’s a rank amateur compared to Blair!

Targeting benefit scroungers is tricky. What is scrounger? Can we be sure? Easier to say everyone on benefits is a scounger and victimise them in the hopes of detering others from claiming.

I suspect they would win an appeal. I hope so. THey shouldn’t have to go through that. This is like playing chicken with people’s lives!
But the real issue is why is this government so hell bent on assuming the worst of any claimant; not just able bodied unemployed adults, but now desperately sick babies!
Any fool can see this is a genuine case, but the atmosphere at the DWP is so toxic that the default position, even for a baby, is NEIN!
This is utterly wrong. Again: where are the PCS?
