(not satire – it’s the UKIP!)
The so-called libertarian party UKIP have been informing the police of anyone who posts things about them they don’t like on the internet.
They are also threatening to sue anyone who uses their logo without their permission.
So much for their supposed support of freedom of speech.
So probably best not to post this anywhere on the internet then:

Thanks for letting us know not to share this. I’ll give EVERYONE I know on Facebook and Twitter and link to the page and tell them not to share it either. And I’ll also ask them to tell everyone else they know not to share it either.
Always have to be pro-active to keep a lid on things like these….

Despite presenting themselves as a Libertarian party, UKIP still haven’t cottoned on to the aspect of the internet that the really serious Libertarians, like Timothy Leary, did long ago: the internet really, really doesn’t like censorship, and if you do try to censor it, it will just reroute the material around it. As Leary and his fellow cyberpunks were fond of saying, ‘Information wants to be free’. Unlike UKIP, who want it securely locked in a sealed room to prevent anybody working out what they’re really doing.

So if I write a load of lies about labour use their logo and fonts to make it look like they were responsible you would be ecstatic about spreading the word, you know things like we will save the NHS, we will stop the outsourcing, we will cut tax for the poor the sort of thing you could never accuse them of doing, because we know they did the opposite.

Don’t forget to also link to valid quotable references (hint anything stated by IDS should be regarded as “a belief,” not a fact as even the statistics authority think he’s a cockwomble, also anything by Mr green/Gwant Schnapps is also a bit dodgy)
By the way, what do you think of the lass who was put up as the token non white non male non tory reject (sorry defector) member for UKIP, who has now deserted it saying they are a bunch of racists, LOL.

If UKIP snitch on me for telling the truth about them and exercising my right to free speech, it’ll only show that I stood up for my beliefs in the face of threats made by cowards and bullies – which is no shame and no disgrace.

Kind of weird that you would think you wouldn’t be able to do that, but hey, have at it, hoss.
I would say though that, at your most vitriolic, you probably won’t be half as scathing as the average Labour supporter is about their party, even on a good day.

UKIP don’t seem to grasp that a political logo is not comparable with a business logo, and that issues around copyright don’t really apply when there is no danger of loss of earnings.
