(not satire – it’s David Cameron)
Amazingly, David Cameron’s constituency office in Witney called the police when the Bishop of Oxford tried to hand in a letter about food poverty signed by church figures.
Anglican priest the Reverend Keith Hebden – who accompanied the Bishop on his visit to Cameron’s office – had this to say about the encounter:
“Summoning the police like that illustrates the sense of panic in this government about rising food poverty levels because they are in such denial about this problem.”
Here’s the full story from Al Jazeera:
UK row over Christian values and food poverty
This happened last week. So why has this not been reported in the UK media, I wonder?
.
Big thanks to Richard Bowyer for the heads up on this.

So the ‘Christian’ PM isn’t willing to read a letter from a Christian bishop? For shame!

It was apparently the same day as Cameron’s interview with the Church Times. I wonder if it might not have had something to do with the Mail on Sunday’s totally coincidental attack on foodbanks this weekend?

Cameron loves Christianity. He loves it so much he tries to have its leaders arrested.
Brilliant. Another triumph of idiocy for Britain’s worst-ever political leader.

Attempts to call the police by MPs when members of the public present them with petitions or protests against their policies seem increasingly common. I remember another incident when a Tory politician attempted to do something to a group of very respectable pensioners. As for it not being reported in the British press, it sounds like it was so embarrassing that it was deliberately suppressed. This does not explain, though, why the ‘I’ and the Guardian failed to cover it.

If this was the plot for a story, no-one would believe it. Such a shame that the wealthy feel beleaguered by mere mortals. Imagine being scared of everything. I would not want to live like that!

Well we need to spread it across our social networking and send to the media. Yes it’s been covered by the “I” but that’s not far enough…

PM Cameron should have called first Boris Johnson, who would have called the Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Brigade who would have doused the good old Bishop with water cannon for his own blessing……
But then didn’t Jesus one time say: “Blessed are the poor for they shall not be able to afford to eat for one whole month….” ??
