The prime minister’s morality has resigned after reports that it had been declared bankrupt as long as 5 years ago.

A Conservative spokesman said that Mr Cameron’s morality had resigned after the Mail on Sunday reported that an investigation by Number 10 revealed it had been made bankrupt in 2010.

A Conservative Party spokesperson said:

“Morality has no role in the Conservative Party nor is it contributing to the manifesto. It was appointed to a number of public bodies by the previous government. It was briefly re-appointed by the prime minister but it should have declared it was bankrupt. This has been pointed out to it and as a result any shred of morality has now resigned from the government.”

Whitehall rules require any principles or sense of right and wrong serving on a public body should inform the relevant minister immediately if it is declared bankrupt.
