(not satire)

The Madani School in Leicester has dropped music from its curriculum even though music is supposed to be a compulsory subject at Key stage 3 under the national curriculum.

This is a result of the government’s decision that schools with academy status do not now have to follow the national curriculum.

The same school has already courted controversy by refusing to allow female teachers to teach boys and vice versa.

It seems the school is also keen on ‘traditional’ gender stereotypes too (from the Madani Schools Federation’s own website):

DIY for boys - sewing for girls

I’m no expert on Islam – but can anyone point me to the part of Islamic teaching which says girls can’t do DIY and boys shouldn’t sew?
