(Not satire. I presume.)
Why is a NATO commanding general following a loopy UK fascist on Twitter?
Although it’s easy to dismiss self-styled UK fascist leader Joshua Bonehill as a loopy fruitcake – he does have nearly 24.5 thousand followers on Twitter, including UKIP and Tory supporters, national journalists and other right-wing fruitcakes.
Bonehill likes to refer to himself as ‘the Glorious Founder‘ and has recently tried to recruit a private army of what he calls the ‘Founderguard‘ – for the personal protection of the ‘leader’.
Bonehill is so off the scale when it comes to right-wing loopiness I’ve always suspected he might secretly be a satirical piss-take of right-wing loopiness.
Unfortunately I think he’s being serious.
Anyway, one of Bonehill’s followers on Twitter is NATO Commanding General John E. Michel.
Perhaps Brigadier General John E. Michel has a refined sense of satirical humour. I hope so.
Or should I be more worried?

What’s most worrying for me is that this fascist fruitloop has 24.5 thousand followers on Twitter. I’ve only got 1.5K! Perhaps I should go all extremist and start referring to myself as “The People’s Voice”!
Oh no, hang on, that’s a Communist newspaper…

I wonder how many left wing followers he has in that amount as well, the extrapolation that all his followers are centre or right wing is rather simplistic, I get links from the tories the lib dems and labour, seeing what your enemies think is useful information not all followers are in favour of the blogger at all.

I’m not even sure if this Joshua Bonehill is real or satirical either. The “party” he leads espouses a philosophy called “National Bonehillism”, and its members style themselves “Bonehirrim”.
I can’t help but think this is one giant caricature of extreme totalitarian/right-wing ideologies…

Unfortunately, if you look at the history of the extreme Right in Britain, they do contain a large number of senior officers from the various Fascist groups of the inter-War period to the General Walker and his private armies of the mid-1970s, all ready to protect Britain from Left-wing subversion and overthrow Harold Wilson. Another explanation is rather more reassuring: the security services keep a watch on extremist groups, including the Fascists, to make sure they don’t try to overthrow democracy. The good general could simply be keeping an eye on him for professional reasons, just to make sure he is a nutter, rather than a dangerous lunatic, who just might start trying to blow people up in a campaign of violence againist Lefties, Blacks, Asians, Jews, gays and anybody else Bonehill doesn’t like. I suspect, however, that Mr Pride is probably correct when he says that Brigadier General John E. Michel may have been following Bonehill out of a refined, satirical sense of humour. The antics of some of the Fascist groups can be grimly hilarious. One of the leading stormtroopers in the NF was jailed for two weeks in the 1970s for stealing women’s underwear from Marks and Spencer, while Mosley’s squadristi regularly used to beat up the goose-steppers of rival Fascist groups in their bid to be Britain’s foremost party of Nazi intolerance and megalomania. Michel could well simply be having a laugh at the expense of another sawdust Caesar, dreaming of Fuhrerdom.

When did he say that he’s the UKIP representative? You might remember your friend Ms Fawkes saying the same about me and the SNP… and weirdly also the Tories!
The serious point is that you have to argue with what people actually said, not what you would prefer to think they said.

the serious point is that when someone actively and openly campaigns for ukip then they are representing them….but that aside i was asking his view on whether or not ukip is a right wing party or not….

no! what i am not fond of is political party speak always drawing attention to their enemies, instead of getting their own house in order 1st…these politicians have a profound mostly detrimental affect on the lives of people….if they did not have that affect power over/on the lives of others then i would consider my views and inquiries, to be an act of fond idol curiously…

Sadly he is serious. Although I believe most of his followers are fake. He has a history of buying likes/followers on his various twitter accounts and fake FB pages. There are many! Personally, I believe he needs some sort of psychological assessment.

John E Michel follows 54k people, may have followed him back out of politeness.Would never see his tweets with that many followers. Josh is known to buy followers and 87% of his followers re either fake or inactive.
If you look at the reaction to his tweets you can quite easily see what people really think of him and it’s not complementary

Nearly all of Bonehill’s 28.4K followers are fake, which he purchased from a website which uses an array of robots to like and follow accounts and pages on social media. Let me make this abundantly clear; He does NOT have one single supporter whatsoever. The only real people paying him any attention are those that have crowded around him to point and laugh. he is NOT a leader of anything, nor is he any of the things he claims to be. he is simply an unstable nut job with some very serious (and presumably undiagnosed and untreated) mental health issues. he is also a convicted criminal who is currently undergoing prosecution for malicious communications. Do not take this dickhead seriously and most importantly, do NOT give this man the credit or attention which he is fishing for.
