(not satire – it’s the Lib Dems!)

The first thing I’m going to do when the coalition’s Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Bill becomes law is to take out an injunction against Lib Dems claiming they support civil liberties.

The new law – which is designed to prevent anybody from being a ‘nuisance’ in public – will be perfect to prevent those irritating Lib Dems constantly disturbing everyone’s piece of mind with loud and annoying claims that they are the only party which protects freedom of speech and civil rights*.

Because obviously the fact that they supported and passed this crazy law** which criminalises anybody from doing anything anywhere, the Lib Dems clearly don’t understand the first thing about protecting civil liberties.

*Note to Lib Dem trolls: pointing out as your excuse that the previous Labour government were just as bad on civil liberties if not worse is not a reason to go ahead and make exactly the same mistakes now that your party’s in government. OK?

** Note to Lib Dem trolls: your Home Office Minister Norman Baker MP standing up in parliament and “receiving assurances” from ministers that the new law will not be used to prevent free speech will not do anything to help anyone being baton-charged or arrested while attempting to test the boundaries of free speech under your detestable law. OK?
