How come the mainstream media is refusing to name the high-profile celebrity who has been arrested today by officers from Operation Yewtree – which was set up to examine allegations of abuse against Savile and others?
Although allegations of this kind are very serious, it would be completely normal for the media to identify and name the suspect at this stage.
Refusing to identify him by name is actually quite strange – especially as other celebrities arrested in Operation Yewtree have been named openly. Could it be that this man’s close connections to senior members of the establishment – particularly the Royal Family – are the reason the mainstream media is being so uncharacteristically silent in this case?
Running scared of celebrities just because they have friends in high places is exactly how people like Jimmy Savile and Cyril Smith got away with their crimes for so long.
Interestingly though, I’m also getting scared about naming him myself. You see how easy it is to be bullied into silence? If I write his name here, all it would take is a quick websearch of the name by his lawyers and I could get another tiresome threat of libel or the blog could even be shut down by WordPress ‘for legal reasons’.
So if you don’t already know the name, all you need to do to find out his identity is to look really, really closely at everything that’s already – initially – been said.

The weird thing is that, when he was interviewed by the police last year, he was widely named as Rolf Harris – I mean how many 82-year-old Australian entertainers are there living in the UK, anyway? I (perhaps naively) thought that he must be in the clear, given that he was the only interviewee not charged last year. All a bit of a shame, really.

Well, my first thought is: ” I don’t believe it – he is such a lovely man; I think he is a really genuine person”. Then I think: “Well, sometimes the truth is shocking”. However, simultaneously I think “Is there something sinister about his arrest that reflects the usual pattern of cunning we have come to know coming from this corrupt administration, and actually he is guilty of nothing but simply providing our government with a fall guy.”?
I seek to remain open minded.
The Tories are the most untrustworthy political group I have ever known and I won’t condemn the man until further investigations/evidence are forthcoming that show him to be ‘guilty’ Let’s just ‘watch this space’ shall we?
Another angle on this is: Why have so few politicians been brought before the law regarding sexual abuse etc. when from all I have read and heard this behaviour is rife amongst them?
Those suspects seem to have become neatly forgotten..?

I understand exactly what you mean. Did Levison’s report arrive at exactly the right time? Surely there must be a link between that and reports that blogs will be targetted, not just MSM. Will celebrities who are ‘loved’ be exempted from paying the price if they have indeed offended? Would our world crash if we knew their names? The ones reported on are either minor celebs or those the public have no regard for in the first place. Whilst they must pay the price for any misdeeds, they are small fry in the great scheme of things.

Tie me libel lawyer down Sport, tie me libel lawyer. Everyone I’ve asked has stated there is no injunction on naming Rolf Harris although I would say as he is part of the ‘others’ investigation I wouldn’t be too quick with the two little boys jokes.

I think in this case it hasn’t possibly because the press are scared of being seen to be part of what could now happen. When the person we are talking about was questioned a few months ago, close friends were quoted as saying he was close to suicide and it was reported he spent Xmas in a psychiatric clinic. The press won’t want to name him for fear of being accused of contributing should he harm himself or worse. For my part, I still don’t want to believe it and won’t till charges are brought. Strange how the names of certain politicians seem to be widely known yet no one seems to have ever been questioned

The problem with arresting high profile people for this particular crime is that fans struggle to come to terms with the reality of the crime. Paedophiles gain trust to get their way and children keep suffering because society just won’t face up to reality. Paedophiles are generally the very people who have spent their lives worming their way into the affections of the world at large so that children have no support when they finally summon up the courage (IF they manage to do this) to tell the authorities. Personally I remain curious about the way the McAlpine business played out. From personal experience in another abuse case, I found myself silenced by social workers who wanted to cover up abuse in a care home. They made it clear that they would use their power against my vulnerable relative to ensure I didn’t pursue my complaints. So, when I learnt that the witness who originally identified McAlpine as an abuser then withdrew their allegation as a case of ‘mistaken identity ‘ I was sceptical. As this horrific saville abuse story has played out we have seen time and time again how the law, and local authorities and social services have protected the guilty parties for decades. Do not be surprised when a favourite celebrity turns out to be a nasty predatory human being and be willing to face the truth because vulnerable children and adults deserve our support. And it’s pretty unrealistic to imagine that it’s only Tories who abuse kids!

I understand that the elderly entertainer in question was grassed up to the Yewtredetectives by a deceitful and aggressive fast-talking bird from Australia… That could mean only one thing: Yewtree have arrested Rod Hull !!

The Name has been all over Twuntter for some time, including a description of what happened. imagine that this person and SaVILE were at the BBC concurrently and JS had one of his fan sessions going on. He may have coerced The Un-named to be part of it. This may be the only time Un-named has ever transgressed.
According to the Twunter comment, the lewd act involved licking bare skin which is not normally bared.

Why are you shy over this. Other people have not been. Now me I would be restrained by the fact that I have no evidence at all for making such an allegation. It could be the queen mother, like David Icke says, oh no I remember now she is dead. You are the bold internet knight in shining armour, not fearing to tread where the paper press do not go. You are the person who claims the internet is the New Order, and the paper press is passe. My advice is, if you have evidence to back up your claims then name the person. If you dont – dont. I say this not because you would be a victim of some dreadful state or personal retaliation – you wont. I say this because personally I would not wish to plant the label paedophile on anyone, unless i had overwhelming evidence to do so. In my view to do so is trolling. My other advice is – do not believe anything you read on the internet.
