(It’s not satire – it’s the House of Lords!)
I don’t know if anyone reading this blog is ever likely to be invited to the House of Lords for a meal in one of their excellent restaurants – but if you are, please please please take my advice.
Whatever you do DON’T EAT THE FOOD.
In fact I wouldn’t drink anything there either.
You see – the cooking and waiting staff in the House of Lords are reportedly mightily pissed off with m’lords and m’ladies after they learnt this week that they’re going to be facing drastic pay cuts just so peers can continue to enjoy subsidised food:
I mean – do I really have to spell this out for you?
The members of the House of Lords seem to have forgotten the golden rule.
Never ever ever piss off the people handling your food.
Because those of us who aren’t completely out-of-touch with the real world know exactly what the consequences might be if you seriously piss off the cooking or waiting staff in a restaurant.
And let’s face it – a bit of spit in the soup might be the best that can be expected in such circumstances. It could well be much, much worse.
But shhh! Don’t tell the m’lords and m’ladies, whatever you do.
It’s all they deserve after selling out the NHS to the private health companies so many of them are directors of.
