(satire – or is it?)
There was shock across the political establishment after an extremist, right-wing, breakaway political grouping known as the ‘United Kingdom Conservative Party’ came third after UKIP and the Liberal Democrats in the Eastleigh by-election.
Members of the obscure party – who are often referred to disparagingly as ‘Tories’ and by mainstream politicians as ‘fruitcakes, loonies and closet racists’ – were celebrating after they split the UKIP vote and came a close third.
The fringe party’s success – described by pundits as an extremist offshoot of UKIP – comes after its controversial candidate Maria Hutchings suddenly mysteriously disappeared from the by-election campaign and turned up for sale at a US auction site in Miami with an estimate of between $220 – $352.
