According to Channel 4 News, Lord Rennard – former Liberal Democrat Chief Executive and big fan of Cameron’s Big Society – has been accused of “inappropriately touching and propositioning” several women over a number of years.
Even more damaging for the Liberal Democrats – party officials have been accused of trying to cover up the allegations.
Lord Rennard is a big fan of Cameron’s ridiculous idea of a Big Society – which as just about everyone else now realises is just a cover for the Tories to cut as many public services as possible especially for the poorest and most needy members of society just so the richest members of our society can get a few tax cuts.
If these allegations are in any way true – it’s yet another feather in the cap for Channel 4 News – which is fast proving itself head and shoulders above all the other television news networks.

Disgusting, sleazy, lecherous perv.
Men like that are so rank. They are all too common, and their behaviour all too commonly excused, just ask any woman (or schoolgirl) who uses public transport on a regular basis.
Women exist, this does not give you the right to touch their bodies.
No means no, you pig.

I must make a point of watching Channel 4 News, but I do wish it were on later. I have given up with the BBC’s ‘Lies at Ten’

If there was a coverup then a big issue for the Lib Dems. If instead the alleged offender had been a leading proponent of the One Nation Labour philosophy would the story have appeared on Prides Purge?

Clive – that would depend on whether One Nation Labour were in power.
At the moment Labour’s ideas are just that – ideas.
Coalition policy – such as the Big Society nonsense – are painful reality.
Big difference.

The Big Society is in theory a noble idea, however, it was seen as a means of replacing public services on the cheap, and a cynical ploy by the coalition in an era of cuts. In a period of strong GDP growth and low unemployment it would be seen differently in my view – the encouragement of community action/localism.

You have to tip your hat to Channel 4 news eh folks. No wonder there is a lack of Female representation in government?
The implications of this are worrying, not least for the victims of this “Lord” but for the Democratic mechanism of representation of this nation?
If the Lib Dems thinks this behaviour is a mere trifle in its own offices, does it think its ok in a court of law or wider social and public environments?
Why is politics such a magnet for sleazy behaviour?
Where would satirists be without sanctimonious double standards spewed out by politicians throughout time?

It was channel four that exposed the con of putting alzheimers patients in a home instead of a hospital and charging them £500-600 per week for care carried out by untrained minimum wage carers, thus stealing any savings of people who should have their care free under the NHS, as well as being used as job creation for the unskilled.
