(satire)
The Prime Minister, David Cameron, is seeking to urgently end the outbreak of Foot-in-Mouth disease which has broken out in his party during the Eastleigh by-election after the Tory candidate there – Maria Hutchings – said all state education was too crap for her son.
Although the Tory candidate is thought to be the worst affected member in the party at the moment, there have been many other outbreaks of Foot-in-Mouth disease which is estimated by experts to have cost the Conservative Party as many as 50 seats at the last general election.
The latest case of Foot-in-Mouth – which experts say Ms Hutchings is particularly prone to – broke out at the weekend amid frantic attempts by the Tory Party to quarantine the sick cow and halt the disease spreading to other parts of the party.

I can`t see why Cameron is bothered by this. State education IS crap in a huge percentage of schools. As a large number of prominent Labour MP`s confirm this by sending their offspring to private schools I expect the silence from the Labour front bench to be deafening.
Nick Clegg wont say boo either….he`s in the news on this issue as I write this. A good rule of thumb is to watch what these people Do….not what they say!

Her child must indeed be ‘gifted’ if, at the age of 12, he had already chosen the specialism he wished to follow if/when he passed his exams at medical school. Does he have any idea yet at which hospital he would like to train?
Perhaps she just misspoke.
Perhaps what she really meant was that the state schools in the area were not suitable for a pushy parent afflicted by a proxy form of delusions of adequacy?

Overall the state education is crap. That is because of 50 years of constant tinkering with the system and interference of politics and politicians. After 50 years no one has a clue or inclination to put things right so the decay will continue.
The 164 grammar schools which were not closed down by Shirley Williams are the finest schools this country has. Most are better than fee paying private schools.
Perhaps if her son lives in an area where there is a concentation of grammar schools that might be the best option.

One must surely be astounded that a true Tory would even consider sending their offspring to a state school. Isn’t it a vital part of the Tory creed that private enterprise is always better and that it is fundamentally wrong to socialise medicine, public services and education?
And what is the government doing to reduce the cost of school meals? If the children want to eat low priced turkey twangers(1) and chips, why shouldn’t they?
(1) Turkey twangers may contain bits of other species of poultry, bits of other species of bird or bits of meat recovered from any species of animal, usually but not exclusively after the animal had died or been killed. Human tissues are not knowingly included.
